Title: Weapons
Post by: Cypress on December 18, 2007, 04:50:11 PM
Why haven't we seen any double weapon wielding in a castlevania game (one weapon per hand)? It is no big deal but they could have some interestng combos here and it would make the weaker one handed swords and daggers more effective (and cooler). I was watching a show yesterday and this guy was fighting using two whips and it looked really cool, so that is why I started thinking about this.

Would you guys like to see multi-weapon attacks?
Any other improvements to the combat system?

Great idea, but that would only work in 3D games because in 2D games you don't see the weapons, except when you attack. And it would just be awkward.

First time I played through SotN I used a short sword and dagger together for a while. let me get some nice 3 hit combos in pretty quickly. then I learned the virtue of using a shield.

when I finally get some stuff worth usin in SoTN I ALWAYS use one in each hand no exceptions. My final combo is always Crissagrim MH and Runesword OH.

Sure can! You can even put a shield in each hand.

All the more reason to get DXC, then.

That's a great idea! I was having the same thoughts about a combo weapon attack at a new 3D castlevania game with more open spaces stages. That would been awesome!

I always thought a castlevania beat em up style A la Final FIght would have been awesome. Multiple enemy combos and such would be nice, like punches and kicks integrating subweapons and the whip with normal hand to hand combat. Although, Dracula and Death would probably not look as cool with those types of backgrounds.

Maybe a Street fighter Alpha style game featuring 20 good guys and 10 bad guys. That'd own. I know there's mugen... but it's not really that good with castlevania sprites.

ok, make a castlevania game with a whip in one hand and a scythe in the other. Scythes are just great.

Uhh...born too late I guess? I was just too young when it came out. But now I have DXC and I've beaten it a lot. It. Is. Great.

I would love to see a multi weapon attack system. In some of Curse of Darkness'concept art Hecto used two swords, so why not.

I would like to see a Belmont use a sword. They could make it so bosses would only be hurt by the whip or something.
But some weapons, like spears and whips, would be two handed. I would love to see Hector or Soma use two swords.
