Siliconera Lords of Shadow Mirror of Fate Interview with Dave Cox and Enric Alvarez (http://www.siliconera.com/2012/06/18/castlevania-lords-of-shadow-mirror-of-fate-interview-on-designing-the-castle/)
Interesting tidbit halfway:
-------------
"I don’t know. We always saw this as the torch being passed to us. We don’t own Castlevania. We aren’t holders of the key. We’ve got it at the moment. We have a story to tell. We don’t want to keep regurgitating something after this. We want to tell our story and let someone else have a go.I think it’s up to other creators to come along, like it used to be in the past, to give their vision of Castlevania. I think Castlevania means a lot of things to a lot of people. If you look on the Internet, some people love what we do, some people hate what we do, and some people are undecided.
--------------
It certainly feels that way here. Are we being researched? If so, "Hello guyz!".

i think this is good. if what they say is true, then i think that one day, even those who don't take kindly to what LoS has done to the timeline (myself included, kind of) will look back and at least respect what cox's team attempted to do.

Reading this interview, you've got to admit they have a very romantic perspective of what Castlevania is, or can be, as a videogame series. And they are very passionate about it, too. I like it and I think they are, maybe, giving more to Castlevania than a few games you can enjoy more or less (or not at all): maybe this concept of a classic series constantly reinventating itself through the eyes of different developers, is what Castlevania really needed. Always being accessible for new fans but keeping classic themes and references there for the long-timers.

He described the whole internet on this phrase. I don't think he really reads here anymore. I remember when LoS was about to be released, someone from MS came here and posted, but I doubt they'll do it this time.

Cox himself actually posted on here a few times, he even told us about Vampire Killer playing in one of the levels of LoS.

Not to much I agree with Cox on but I must agree with him here and I appreciate his decision to "pass the torch" so to speak on to someone else.
Not sure about anyone else, but I never really wanted IGA to have the series "permanently".
I always wanted to see him wrap up his story with the 1999 game (and also game between LOI and CVIII) and then pass the torch on to someone else.
I really would not mind it being like it was back in the day where the torch was passed frequently.
Maybe the torch could be passed to Wayforward and they get a trilogy as well? :D

Im %100 sure that Cox and Mercurysteam developers lurk the forums and they even posted here a few times IIRC.
So yeah, they're pretty much monitoring us, probably at this very moment. And I bet they're having a good laugh too.

I'm a big LoS fan, but I had no idea Cox was privy to my playing.
I'm touched, and a tad frightened. :o

Not only here but I also recall an interview at the chapel way back when.

It's a shame. I really like the Lords of Shadow timeline. The ending to LoS was tear-jerking (not the epilogue), despite Gabriel's slightly underwhelming voice acting.
-
I also like the timeline. But I don't want it to get milked to death by underhelming sequels and side stories just like IGA's.

In the past, YES.
Now? Who knows? Considering they don't post anymore, we can only speculate on this.

ehm is H. Akamatsu team still alive ?!
if you know what i mean ...

LOL, you're kidding right?

LOL, you're kidding right?
Well, I cried. Tears of rage, but still cried.

Well like he said from day one. "I dont want to be Mr. Castlevania"
