BUT, I'm a little confused about the game saving. Do I neeeeeed to buy a memory stick along with it, or is there at least some storage that comes with the system itself that I can save my files on?
And if not, I don't know what to do: buy the core package, and buy a memory stick separately; or buy the Daxter bundle, and have a game I don't care about playing.
Right now the Daxter bundle looks to be the best choice, simply 'cos for $30 more I get a game plus a 1GB memory stick that, as far as I know, sells for around $25 regularly, so it's kind of like I'm actually getting a $5 game. BUT, does anybody know of any online sales going on or anything, where I can get a 2- or 4GB memory stick for real cheap?
I can get a 2GB Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo for $42 shipped, so I wonder if I should just get the core pack plus this memory stick. Although the question is, will I eeeeeever need that much space? I highly doubt I'll store music or movies or anything on my PSP. I just want something for save files. (EDIT: Oh, and apparently Best Buy's got the same thing on sale for $40, so maybe while I'm there getting ma Pee-Ess-Pee, I'll buy me one-a them.)

Unless you buy the Daxter Bundle which comes with a memory stick you do need to buy a memory stick. The PSP has no internal memory for game saves.

I dunno if the sellers are trustworthy, but there are 2GB Sony MSPDs sold on eBay ranging from $20-30 shipped. Maybe I'll buy from someone on thurr.
Like this guy hea (http://cgi.ebay.com/New-2-GB-Memory-Stick-Pro-Duo-For-SONY-PSP-Camera-2GB_W0QQitemZ250196586305QQihZ015QQcategoryZ122615QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem), who's apparently got 65 on-hand. Makes sense to buy in bulk and then sell for a price that you both make profit on and aren't also ripping the buyer off, unlike retail. So...I'm willing to believe it's legit and not some phony fake Sony memory stick...

I got my 2gb memory card on ebay.

I got it for that reason aswell. Though I got annoyed of the whole games semed to go out of sync for some odd reason so I finally just updated to play the newer games.

I would advise not buying the MSPDs off ebay, they are mostly fake and a friend bought one and it stopped working in a few days. There's a reason they're dirt cheap; shit quality.

If I'm right, you also get a few episodes of Family Guy with the Daxter pack, which is awesome.

most of the people there aren't trying to sell bad merchandise though as that leads to negative feedback and noone will buy anything else from them. I think your friend just got unlucky and got a lemon, it's happened to me before and normally if you email or call the seller and tell them what's up they'll send you another one especially if they're dirt cheap. :)

Hey, I wouldn't mind getting a bobcat, as long as I could train it to kill my victims! ;D

I've got the PSP
but no memory stick.
Apparently Best Buy's got 'em on sale for $40, unless that's an online-only deal. I'll give 'em a call tomorra...
