Title: Let's get Castlevania some love in the next Smash
Post by: Dremn on July 02, 2012, 10:16:13 PM
Everyone knows a new Smash Bros game is on the way, and Snake was put into Brawl because Kojima personally requested and begged him to be in it.

That being said, it's evident Nintendo and Konami have some very strong ties, so if MGS could gain a presence in Smash Bros, then why not Castlevania? What can the fans do to get the message out there we want to see one of the Belmonts go toe to toe with the likes of Mario, Link, Samus, Captain Falcon, and many others? Dracula's abode is just begging to be a stage, imagine what they can do and all the fan service we could get from it!

The next Smash is still very early in development, so if there was ever a good time to get some noise started that Konami and Nintendo couldn't possibly refuse to listen to, it's now.

What would you like to see Nintendo and Namco Bandai do with Castlevania if they allow the IP a generous spot in their big plan for the next installment in the series?

This right here. Genius I think everyone agrees on this one I recall that I said something like this a while ago. Think about it like this if Mirror of fate does well to Nintendo standards and konami let's bug them to no end let's bring it up to Reggie, Miyamoto. Sakurai, Heck even Kojima, Cox if we have to. I know I am saying this like a broken record. but Nintendo was impressed with that code ms sent them so we need that code to succeed so we can get a Belmont in it. I can't find my exact quote, but Yeah I just agree  ;D

For instance Trevor could equal Marth since in MoF he's said to be less wild than say Simon who was stated to be a wild fighter. So Trevor/Simon = Marth/Ike not only that if they put Simon imagine all the possible extra out fits he could have  :o

Edit. woah wait you just said namco bandai so that means two possible things.

1. Pac-man
2. A namco series based character in this case I am hoping for some Tales of love

Tales of VS. It shouldn't be hard to convert someone's moveset in that to a Smash Bros. moveset.

I'd be pretty disappointed if Simon or Trevor's MOF counterparts were selected for a spot over their originals   ...the LOS series hasn't exactly contributed a great deal to Nintendo when compared to the old timeline.

Playable Simon and matching Castlevania stage/music would be enough for me. A playable Dracula would be amazing as well; I imagine he'd be like a much beefier, tricksy version of Zelda. He and Wario could have a bite-off!

What I'm really waiting for is Capcom to announce that they'll work with Nintendo and Namco put in a mystery character, then have it be Ryu for the maximum level troll meltdown.

Since Lords of Shadow is their new hot property, we'd most likely be getting Gabriel, LoS Trevor, or LoS Simon. One of the latter probably, since they've actually appeared on a Nintendo console. Also, Kojima has a potential to endorse these characters, having been a part of LoS's rise.

I think Simon and Dracula should be in it, but like someone already said it seems like it's not really up to Nintendo and/or Namco to approach other companies and ask if they want their characters in the game. A prime example is Mega Man, who didn't make it into Brawl because Capcom simply didn't ask.

Now, what I'm really hoping for is KLONOA! Namco would be fools not to put him in the game, and hopefully that could spark some interest in this sadly underrated character and his awesome games. Klonoa 3 needs to happen, but it won't unless someone does something.

Pac-Man is probably a given.

Original or LoS Simon seems to be the idea.

I would not be against LoS Simon making it in, I really do like his design.

If Simon were to be in, I'd like him to be a combination of his SQ and SCVIV styles.

If Drac, a combination of his CoD, OoE and DX Chronicles styles.

From what I am reading remember how Wario had a bunch of different costumes, well the same could be done with Simon, you could have his CV, CVII, SCIV, Chronicles, and MoF versions, everyone wins right? Also how effective would multidirectional whipping be in smash brothers.

As for Namco I say go for Milla from tales of Xillia it does two things.

1.Introduce the tales series to the west in a bigger scope than ever before.
2Having a swordswoman. I know that a Lyn with a voice of a 40 year old was disappointing (I know I was  :( )
3.Hype Xillia for a wiiu release.

My vote goes to LoS Simon. Best Simon so far.

It's also the most likely choice, as they'll want to hype up the (at the time of the new Smash's release) recently released Mirror of Fate.

I don't see Castlevania being in the next Smash title. If anything, we will be getting something from Namco (Please not Tekken or Soul Calibur). I'm not even sure if Sega or Konami will have their properties returning for the new game. D:

Though if a Castlevania character were to appear, it would surely be Simon Belmont.

Screw Smash......I want Capcom vs. Konami.

Chris Redfield vs. Solid Snake

Simon Belmont vs. Dante

Alucard vs. Virgil

Nemesis vs. goddamn Pyramid Head

Petition for that. Then you'll have me 200% on-board.

Sonic and Snake were great additions to brawl, but I really don't want to see them go overboard with 3rd party characters in the next one, with namco bandai doing it I'm already a little worried we'll be getting too many of their characters. Honestly all I want to see from namco Bandai is Pac Man, that's it. And as much as I love Castlevania, I don want o see any cv characters in a Smash game. I only want more Nintendo characters. Give me Ridley, king K Rool and eggplant wizard.

Simon and megaman are the two most wanted characters, lets not forget simon was also in tv fighters dream mix, so his basic moves are already there if they wanted to reuse that, heck most of snakes moves in brawl are from that game

I'd like to see some old Namco guys in there. Valkyrie and Rick from Splatterhouse, for example. (The latter is likely impossible considering the target audience.) Just not all Tekken characters please.

I always thought they should just have character named Belmont and each alt costume is a different Belmont.

That is a GREAT idea!

It's actually quite possible. Nemesis is from a Rated M game (being Resident Evil 3: Nemesis), but he (and his disgusting final form) made it into Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 without messing up the rating.

It's entirely possible to put in Rick. It all just depends on how they develop his moveset (though if he did make it in, his original appearance would be the one put into the game, seeing as how Super Smash Bros. tends to cater towards nostalgia, not that that's a bad thing).

Genius.  Nintendo should do this.

Thirding Guy's idea.

This idea is cool, and seeing the number of alternate costumes, we could totally got almost every Belmont member.

Well now you've done it; you've inspired me to make an account here and put my ยข2!

Considering Simon was CV's representative in those Wai wai world games, I'd say Simon has a shot at being in a smash bros title. Let's not forget that Konami HAS sprinkled him throughout the series. We got him in both HoD games--and in all his 8-bit glory I might add. As others have mentioned, Simon was in some other "smash" type of game, as well as Judgement. He was also in a sequel and some remakes earlier in his "career". And, considering he's in MoF (if I'm understanding correctly), he's never been far from Konami's mind.

And, as much as Smash bros. just LOVES to include virtually-clones of characters (I'm looking at you Dr. Mario, Toon Link, Ness/Lucas, and Marth/Roy), we have a shot of getting at least ONE Belmont (and I'll third, or fourth, or whatever it's up to) or a generic Belmont character with skins designating popular ones like Simon, Trevor, and Richter. Hell, they gave us fragging (pardon the Shadowrun parlance) Mr. Game and Watch, and animated him in such a style as to be an homage to his hand-held roots so we might get even get an 8-bit Simon. It certainly wouldn't be the first (or second) time 8-bit Simon has showed up.
