Did they scrap RE 6 or is Damnation and 6 the same game?

Damnation is a movie they announced two years ago. It's a movie sequel to Degeneration and it ties into RE6. It will be released 25 days after RE6.

EDIT: According to Matthew Mercer (voice actor for Leon Kennedy in RE6 and Damnation), the release date was changed to somewhere in September, so it comes out before RE6.
