Title: Forum questions
Post by: Claimh Solais on July 25, 2012, 04:10:16 PM
Not exactly errors, so I didn't post them in that thread, and I didn't see a question thread anywhere (I assumed one would be stickied), so...

Question 1: Is it not possible to add a Delete Post button for your own posts? Or is there some reason there isn't one?

Question 2: Why are you able to post new topics and polls in the library archives section? o.O

1. I have disabled the ability for people to do that.

2. You shouldn't be able to!  I have to go take a look at that.

Question!

...why? I mean, deleting an embarrassing post is sometimes better than going back, and editing it and leaving it obvious that here was once a post you're not too proud of. Deleting a whole TOPIC is definitely mod/admin stuff, but the occasional post does strike me as something that should be able to be deleted, unless it would cause coding problems for quotes of that post or something (I can't imagine that it would though).

Nope, you gotta live with your mistakes. :P
It is precisely so that people know there's a post edit happening, even if it changes the post.

It encourages you to think before hitting that Post button.

1. Ah, okay, I understand now. I was just wondering since, like, almost every board I've been to has that but this place didn't.

2. Yeah, I go in there sometimes when I get bored and just see what all was deleted (like, 85% of them are bot posts), and I noticed the Create Topic and Poll buttons. I even clicked them to see if they worked.
