I've recently downloaded the ROM for Kyuuyaku Megami Tensei, the remake of the first two MegaTen games for SNES, but it doesn't seem to work properly. When entering certain rooms, the game just freezes and sometimes the screen goes black. I don't know if the ROM is a bad dump or if the problem lies somewhere else. I downloaded another ROM but that one had the exact same problems. The emulator I use is Snes9x. Does somebody have any advice?

You could try out other SNES emulators and see if that curbs the issue. I've had the occasional ROM go 'bad' on me and it is annoying as shit. The Emulator I use is ZSNES. In case it's not any of the emulators then it might be just a ROM problem itself.

Thanks! That did the trick.

No problem :)

ZSNES was 'the' emulator for SNES. Certainly SNES9x is still the shittiest of them all. BSNES has taken the crown though, with it's strive for ultra accuracy. The problem is that BSNES requires the most power to run properly.

I've never noticed anything obviously wrong with SNES9x. I think it works just fine. It's also very nostalgic to me since I've been using it since 1998 or so.

BSNES has taken the crown though
I've never heard of this emulator before. I'd better check it out to see what it's like. But hopefully it's interface system is not nearly as impossible as SNES9x's was. God! I just couldn't get that thing to work no-matter what I did!
