So I just learned of the three-pack containing the first three Devil May Cry games, and it's $30 new. I've only ever played the first one, but at the time I wasn't all too impressed by it. Should I shell out the munnehz? I mean, three games, ten bucks apiece... Kind of tempting. SHOULD I enjoy these games? Ought I to give DMC a second chance?

I ordered it, by the way, and hope I don't regret doing so. That $30 could have gone towards two or three awesome CDs, or one really rad game.

First ones great, second one sucks, third one ROCKS!!

If you're into games like God of War, the PS2 CV's & Rygar, and Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox, then you'll probably like DMC as well. The first one is my favorite of the three. The learning curve is just right, level design and atmosphere are top notch, and the story is interesting. I rented DMC2 but didn't like it as much. It didn't seem to have the atmosphere or difficulty balance of the first one. The enemies aren't nearly as cool, as you're fighting things like apes and possessed helicopters instead of the demons from the first one.
DMC3 is...really, really hard. I tend to suck at 3D games, but I've beaten enough of them that I'm not sure that's the problem. I can't beat the third level on Normal difficulty without spamming items, even after replaying the first two missions several times to level up my character. And I hate playing on Easy because it's made to feel like an insult in this series. But other than the difficulty, DMC3 brought back much of what was good in the first DMC.

Cool. You know if they sell it in the store, or is website exclusive?

You'd have to call your local GameStop(s) to see if they have it. Go to the page for the box set, and there'll be a search box to check the store availability on the item. Put in yer zip code and see what comes up. :o It doesn't guarantee whether the item will actually be there, though, so if it shows a certain store near you does have it, be sure to call the number for that store.

Great. My B-day is coming up soon, and I'm just gonna get a load of money and buy my own presents, so that will be on my list.
