I woke up this morning to a thick layer of snow outside my window, and the snow keeps falling, to this moment.
In Northern countries snow is nothing special I suppose but in here, a real snowstorm happens once in around 5 years.
When it falls, people worship it as a divine phenomenon and you can be sure as shit that you're screwed as the city has no effective way of clearing it.
What is means is that until the storm is over, the city is paralyzed. Besieged. Torn from the outside world.
And all I can say is "lol" :P There's something terribly wrong with me.

A winter wonderland sounds pretty baaaaaaadaaaaaaaaaassssssss. Revel in it.

Ugh, glad I live in the American south. We got one or two storms this year & it was still too much for my taste.

You guys got a big snowstorm, we got a big flooding rainstorm here with widespread flooding. :P
I just saw Noah pass by picking things up by two.

I love snow so I love where I live.
However, it's been snowing annoyingly less and less each year.

It's snowing right now in Washington. Tomorrow it will be ice and Saturday I'll be cussing out my apartment's lack of adequat insulation when I wake up to 24 degree temps and frozen pipes.

It's only minus 18c up here in Whitehorse. But I'd take that over minus 47c combined with a flesh-ripping windchill and ice fog. However recently our winters have been getting more moist so even minus 18c is much colder then it used to be. I never thought it snowed at all in the middle-east. But from the sounds of things I guess you guys are already prepared enough to sit it out till it's over even if you can't go anywhere.

I don't think so :) I know your culture has a lot of conflict and strife, but in the end mother nature will put her foot down and everyone will loses out. Now that's funny.

I think Futurama put it best in one of their newest episodes-"If nature has taught us anything, it's that it is cruel, and teaches us nothing."

Regular snow is a rarity for me, but when it does actually snow It's usually either a snowstorm or not enough snow to amount to anything. (I do apologize if this somewhat counts as thread necromancy but I thought that I something of relevance to say in regard to the OP mention of snow, In Israel of all places. But when I think about it the overall rate of it snowing where I live is slightly more often so I guess I should be thankful)

As earth lovers would say...
Freaky weather blame it to global warming.
For the others...
Just another crazy weather day that would soon pass.
In reality it is just a rare weather event that occurs in cycles.

I live in Alaska. I adore snow. Send it here.
