Title: If they ever make a movie starring Gabriel Belmont.....

...then they need to hire this guy. I saw him in the movie, coincidentally, named Gabriel. However, he did not play Gabriel in the film. I never saw his other movies but he did a good job in this. As soon as I first saw him I thought of Gabriel Belmont. What do you guys think?

He bears some ressemblance with Gabriel indeed!

AAUUGH I'M SO EXCITED FOR THE NEW HELLOWEEN ALBUM NEXT WEEK

But on topic, I always thought Robert Carlyle himself had a great resemblance to Gabriel. I can't remember if that was so much coincidence or intentional on the designer's part. I know Hideo Kojima gave them suggestions to make Gabriel look more relatable to the player though, and less barbarian-like than he originally looked.

If we're still wishing for a Castlevania movie (now that Paul Anderson and his stupid Sonia "Gotta-Fit-Milla-Jovivich-In-Somehow" idea have been canned), I would prefer to see Guillermo Del Toro directing and Garrett Hedlund as Simon Belmont.

He could definitely pull off a Gabriel. But What about Robert Carlyle? Gabe obviously had his face molded in Carlyle's likeness somewhat

Robert Carlyle is a great actor but he's too old to play Gabriel. He's 51. Dwaine, on the other hand, looks like he was born to play Gabriel.

I think Cox loves Robert Carlyle too much that is why Gabriel's face is based on him.
They are even twitter buddies.
 
A younger Carlyle would have been a perfect fit for Gabriel.
Old Carlyle could play Dracula.
But I still couldn't forget Carlyle's Rumplestiltskin from OUAT.

Just don't let Paul Anderson direct it. Please.....

A little off topic, but I totally agree. I found Townsend's performance incredibly cringe worthy and felt he really didn't mesh with the character at all.

Carlyle's way too old to play Gabriel. 20 years ago, perhaps, but now... nah. Dracula, on the other hand....

And Carlyle's badass as Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold on OUAT! ;D Crazy how multi-dimensional his character is, and they teeter constantly with his dark side and light side. Just when you think he's about to go over the edge, he's pulled back to his humanity.

I'm not opposed to Sonia at all (she & Iga's complete denial of her existence was my sig for a while after all), but Anderson makes my skin crawl...in a bad way.

Robert Carlyle would be just a bit old for Gabriel & that makes me sad because he's perfect in every other way. He'd be a fine Dracula though I must say.

Dwaine looks like he could be a pretty nifty Gabriel, but I wouldn't say he's perfect...just something...I dunno, not quite there for me. He's probably a better pick than most others & there isn't really a 'perfrct' match, so maybe I'm just expecting too much. Maybe it's just that I've seen so many terrible video game to big screen transitions I just don't wanna see a series this beloved marred.

Yeah, too many bad movies coming out from great games.
I don't want Hollywood to touch Castlevania unless they are 100% sure they know what they are doing (which is most likely impossible).

On a side note, I hope the upcoming Assassin's Creed movie fares well. It might pave a new path for games to transition into movies.

do u remember the guy they used to play Goku?? me either :-[ but i would hope somebody who will be a direct representation of Drac wont succumb to the same fate. wouldnt it be nicer rather to have sort of an Advent Children Movie instead? i think so anyway :rollseyes:

I was thinking something closer to that Beowolf movie where they CG-ed up the actors. That way we can still have our favorite Carlyle!

These are the right guys for the job -- Hedlund as Simon vs. Martin as Dracula. (Ages: 28 and 45, FYI.)

From what i know about Carlyle, he hates too much CGI.

I absolutely adore Robert Carlyle, but he is a bit old to play him.  But I love that he voiced Gabriel.  I hope he's voicing the new ones.

I love him on Once Upon a Time.

Back to topic:  the guy in the first post does look like Gabriel.  If they ever do make a movie for CV I'd still rather have it be Trevor's story.  Just keep Paul away from it.
