Is it just me, or did I hear an explosion in the distance?

StarTrek =/= StarWars,
this is like asking nintendo staff that works on mario to make a new castlevania because hey, they are both platformers and involve castles!

Lens Flare Wars: Revenge of the Apple Store

...can't be any worse than Lucas's last 3 efforts though.

I find the news weird since earlier Abrams said he wouldn't direct due to a conflict of interested (him already handling Trek).

I wonder if this means "Into Darkness" is his last Trek film (possible) or Disney offered an abandoned oil tanker welded to a decommissioned aircraft carrier load of money.

And like Ratty said, he can't do worse than Lucas' last attempts on the franchise, imo.

I'm actually optimistic on this, maybe he can add Star Wars Media that isn't Beating a Dead Horse
OR he could make a Trilogy so Bad It'll Kill the Franchise.

Either way its good, I'm not a Hater, but a long franchise with only 3 credible films that aren't even in digital format needs to die sometime.

(I'm talking about the NON-special editions of the Trilogy)

Regardless of whether or not Abrams has talent (I have no idea; I've never seen a single thing he's done), it's gonna suck shit because Lucas is a creative consultant and Disney wants to stay as true to his vision (or lack thereof) as possible.

Also, of what I know of Cloverfield (again, never seen it), this seems accurate:

I guess no one can fill the shoes of George Lucas, but someone has to direct it...
I didn't see Lost, which is the best thing this director did, according to what they tell me.
