I'm finishing this game for PS3 and I really love it.
I'd love to see what WayForward can do with Castlevania.
The atmosphere and the music are awesome, the gameplay is fun and deep, and the level design is very good.
I would have added a little more tunes and make the castle levels more different one from each other, but all in all it was an awesome game.
So, what do you think about it?
I couldn't find a topic about this game. If it's already done, I apologize.

There was a topic back when the game was new, but it's no longer active.
I love the game, the platforming can be a bit tricky at times and the combat can get repetitive, but it's an overall well-made game. It's the right template for a new-age 2D Castlevania, but they'd have to tweak the combat among other things here & there to fit as a Castlevania game.
The music is also very Castlevania-like, especially the NES versions you can unlock. A couple good examples:
Bloodrayne: Betrayal OST - Peaceful Moon (NES Version) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0fwtS3Ye7g#ws)
Bloodrayne: Betrayal OST - Poisoned Halls (NES Version) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98x_3sLioDU#ws)

Yeah totally!
Those NES versions are awesome!
My favourite is Dusk Falls.
I personally consider this theme to be the most Castlevania-like theme ever to be made for a non-Castlevania game.

if I recall, the NES OST was composed essentially using the CV3 stuff, including the VRC6 chip.
The problem with BB, is that I can never be bothered to re-play it. it's a one time game for me. Just doesn't hold enough to make me want to replay it.
It's still a gorgeous game, but lacking a bit in content and stage design, since it's primarily a Hack n' Slash. I particularly dislike being stuck in a room until I kill all enemies. THAT is one of the bigger problems I have with it. That kind of thing is NOT fun. it's grindy.

I have to agree with that, several rooms were just boring.
I don't like being in a room until I kill all enemies either.
