I just wanted to gather an idea and so each of us can see the result...
-
Went with arcade, but also love sitting in the same room with some friends gaming on an oldschool console. Trash talking is supreme then.
Arcades were made for trash talking as well, but you were usually very close to your opponent and he/she could smack you.
-
couch play is where its at, unlike online there is no lag and you get to punch that guy who is being cheap.
-
i cant think of which i would prefer more. Passing around the controller in fighting game is tops over online. But at the arcade, if you are that guy who is chopping a line of opponents down then its good, except when u get beat and wait in that huge line!

I went with Local because LAN PARTY. ;D

I haven't been to a massive LAN (unless you count PC Freeplay at PAX), but man, nothing beats a really nice LAN party with a bunch of your closest friends. Me and my buddies have been doing it since CS was still a mod and I think beta version 2, if memory recalls correctly.
I really need to throw a LAN party at my new place...
-
i have done a few LAN parties but not to that extreme... WOW!

Online or local co-op. Doesn't matter which as long as I'm doing it with friends. Otherwise single player. Never have felt the competitive urge so I rarely get into such games. Having a vs. game with me is likely to be like "Other player after defeating me: Oh you just got OWNED!" "Me: Ah, so I did."
But I greatly enjoy helping people in games and like being a medic or "stitch bitch" to use an old colloquial term.

I went with handheld but I do play a lot of console games too.
-
I chose handheld because I don't commonly stay in one place.
-
Console's my preference. I never really got into the whole online thing, plus sometimes the people online cheat.
-
Nothing beats the home console experience for me...
Although, I've really had wonderful experiences with handheld games (Riviera, Prinny, some FF games, a few DS, GBA and PSP titles, even GB, and of course, all 10 portable Castlevanias).
