this is a completely original topic >.>;
within the pantheon of Castlevania games there's almost always at least 1 title that didn't quite "click" with you for whatever reason; Use this topic as an opportunity to reveal certain aspects of your "less-than-stellar" game(s) that you enjoyed despite disliking everything else about it.
For me? I enjoyed Judgment's soundtrack quite a bit (that might be a universal opinion here), and prolly the only thing they did "right" with that game. A probably more unpopular opinion is that I liked the fact that CVAdventure introduced rope-climbing, and i kinda wish that gameplay aspect would return in some form (2D game preferrably. there was no rope-climbing in ReBirth >:()

Really liked the art and music in Adventure, the laggy gameplay completely kills it for me though.
-
Loved the weapon forging and Innocent Devil stuff in Curse of Darkness. Those systems really deserved to be in a better game.
I also thoroughly enjoyed spamming things in Harmony of Despair that cause obnoxious voice clips to occur.
-
Good topic Crisis!
- Loved Curse of Darkness music and storytelling. The pokemons were good too.
- Castlevania 64 ambientation is unmatched.
- I liked Dance of Ilusions from Judgment. Dracula's design was not bad either.
- Dracula X had awesome graphics.
- Circle of the Moon had a good level design where paltfforming mattered.
- Dawn of Sorrow had Julius mode, and that alone makes it an obligated purchase.

Wh-what if I love all Castlevania games unconditionally? :(
On that note, though I think OoE is a little weak, but I love it's art direction, multi-map location concept (some stages leave something to be desired) and the difficulty it first presents! So goo~d. ;D

Using Persephone's soul ability on herself in DoS.
;D
-
I really liked everything bout OOE except the characters. They were dull to play as. I kept hoping there'd be a Belmont to unlock but it was Shanoa and then Castlevania:The Contra Edition for an extra. :P
-
I really liked both DLC of Lords of Shadows, while I didn't quite enjoy the game, I found the DLCs highly enjoyable, especially Reverie.
-
- I enjoyed the platforming in the N64 games and the atmosphere despite the horrible graphics and controls
- I enjoyed the story and weapon forging aspects of CoD
-
The scenarie porn from LoS. Seriously good stuff on a game I don't like.

The title of this thread makes it sound like this is a thread for Castlevania domestic abuse victims who refuse to rescue themselves from their dire situation.

Reminded me of this cheesy 80's disco megahit:
ERASURE LOVE TO HATE YOU (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QES-eQ4lR5U#)

Dracula's dialouge in sotn any of them.
-
interesting topic !
- Castlevania III i loved how you can switch between 3 different characters with different skills and uses
- Super castlevania IV , with no doubt here i must mention the awesome platforms which i have never seen on any game until now !
- SOTN for almost everything if it wasn't too easy it was one of the most polished castlevania games
- DOS for the soul system
- Dracula X chronicles the graphics was awesome and also i loved the new voice acting along with the re-arranged soundtracks
- Curse of darkness for the weapon forging and the pokemon elements
- LoI the story was really touching
-
The music in Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness are both wonderful.
Curse also had really good boss fights, the crafting as was fun, and the innocent devils were cool.
Portrait of Ruin had some pretty cool skills, and I appreciate trying to shake thing up with having two characters, although they made Charlotte far too weak.
Lords of Shadow was pretty I guess.
-
-Vampire Killer for having a great range of items and focusing in exploration.
-Bloodlines for having 2 different chars, its a shame that it have a poor ending and some things are cancelled before the release.
-CV2 Graveyard Duck and Death Star cameos.
-LoS have good graphics, but I cant accept that "fail hollywood adaptation feel" and the GoW mechanics (since Im not one of the major fans of GoW, it still a cool game tough). Hau auu~
I really like all of them, even these that I pointed are cool to play if Im in the right mood (LoS is more difficult to play though lol).
-
I love how Curse of Darkness keeps the shorter leg of my desk from wobbling.
...What?
-
The Adventure got an amazing remake on the Wii.
-
Super Castlevania IV's soundtrack.

Super Castlevania IV's soundtrack.
You love the soundtrack, but not the game? ???
