Jorge, that is awesome!
You can print things you made in minecraft with a 3d printer.

Or let a printing company print your minecraft designs for a fee.

I've been searching the internet and found someone who also made dracula's castle. (the thread is in german though...)

That looks really cool!
Which texture pack is that, by the way?

Mine is all using the defaults.
However, if I change to a texture pack like Atherys Ascended, or Misa's Realistic Pack, things change dramatically.

My town is matching the insides and outsides of the game's town, though.  You know, the somewhat-unrealistic multi-floor dwellings of the game.  I made every house's inside though (the original game has many locked doors), and villagers have moved in and there are Iron Golems to stop the zombie raids.

Church inside (I put ladders that take you up to the bell tower).

Shop.  There are other shops now though since there's a blacksmith in one of the previously-locked houses, etc.
And technically every villager is a tradesman now...

Mines a customized dokucraft dark. Almost all the blocks in the town (roofs especially) are custom (as in a mod) which I added the textures to.

I did a lil work on my custom mod for the server today =D

It's in my blood to make Castles.

I tend to never finish them though. :P

http://www.worth1000.com/entries/619730/castle-von-morder (http://www.worth1000.com/entries/619730/castle-von-morder)
This is the only Castle which I even remotely finished, back in Minecraft Classic. And even then, CASTLING NEVER FINISHES. IT'S NEVER COMPLETE AUUUGH

here's one I'm currently working on,

I'm making it in survival, so obviously it isn't as easy. Haven't worked on it in a while. prolly should.

And another I made on a friend's server. The server's down, and this is the only screenshot I have of it for a reason which escapes me right now. Again, I never finished it. Though it was in this case more of a topographic issue. I always search for high mountainous land for castles. i found the best spot for this place, but the server's land was all jacked up, like, for example, where the Castle was, there was the hillside, and then a flat drop to a beach because the land generation was messed up. I couldn't figure out what to do with the layout of the castle either, so I kind of got bored with it and gave up.

I made a neat Clocktower on that server too, (different map though) I should probably ask my friend to put the server back up one of these days and post pics of it.

Someone should start a server for the forum, I'm thinking of making a Minecraft build project on building the first stage in Castlevania Rondo of blood with digitally burning buildings an alternate path like the original.

What mod and map?
Title: Re: Minecraft Thread
Post by: Lelygax on March 15, 2013, 07:25:24 PM
You doesnt need to fly, you can put a lot of dirt blocks to reach this altitude and remove it after, thats why I asked it. Mod is obvious if you take a look at the screesnhot, Im talking about the visual mod for the inventory. Map = your map, what you've created, the castle.

Im not fond of making towers to get higher, just to take a picture.

The Texture pack is nice. It's Atherys Aescended

You don't need dirt towers and stuff like that with creative mode thus the flying and no hp/hunger bars

I bet you guys know what area this is.  Heh heh.

If you idle for too long, this guy 'may' show up and fight you... or other oddities.  All thanks to Dracula's counterpart in this game... Herobrine. :P

I put this pic at the CVDungeon facebook page, but I'll put it here as well.
The faces actually tell proper Minecraft time. :D

The game will feature actual moving gears up at the Clock Tower, too. :o

EDIT (some new stuff):

The Chapel's front face. :D  The back is not done yet though. ;)

The inside of the Chapel.  Looks like something out of Rondo (Chapel Stage) or Super Castlevania IV (first stage) or CV1's Stage 2. :D  With a little height like Symphony. :P

When I've got more of the map done, I might set it up so that dungeon people can join.

I can probably only allow 10 people, max.

Yknow what i'd love to see in an MC map some day- a collapsing bridge segment. i assume sand or gravel would be ideal, but I think that would probably fall too fast. unless there was some kind of elaborate piston system underneath or something.

BTW last night I played a map called Dropper with a pair of pals. Give it a shot. it's truly awesome.
Title: Re: Minecraft Thread
Post by: Jorge D. Fuentes on June 05, 2013, 08:38:39 AM
You can do the collapsing bridge with the Craftbook bukkit plugin.  The way it works is you have 'disappearing' areas as you pass a certain point.  Clever use of command blocks combined with this would work.
It's how I made the moving gears, it's swapping one area with another.

Of course, it won't be perfect; you need a command block somewhere to activate the radius for the collapse, so that it happens behind you, not in front of you.  Afterwards you'd need to set up a timer so you can make the other areas disappear on time.  They don't have to fully disappear; they can look 'collapsed' a few blocks down so that if you missed your jump, you're stuck and have to go down another path (like in DraculaXX).

A small problem though, is that then you'd have to put it back for every other adventurer who wants to pass by.  It's possible to do, but difficult to execute.
Title: Re: Minecraft Thread
Post by: K.G. Morder on June 05, 2013, 09:46:43 AM
Which is why some kind of piston system would probably be better. it retracts blocks, and eventually puts them back.
Title: Re: Minecraft Thread
Post by: Jorge D. Fuentes on June 05, 2013, 09:52:15 AM
You can do it with areas as well, though.  I'm more concerned about the 'falling' animation, which cannot really be mimicked well with either scenario.
If you used Sand you have to replace the sand eventually, no?
Title: Re: Minecraft Thread
Post by: K.G. Morder on June 05, 2013, 12:35:00 PM
sure would. unless you have some complicated system set up that feeds the sand back up. (a piston system- ive seen something like this before)
Title: Re: Minecraft Thread
Post by: Jorge D. Fuentes on June 05, 2013, 12:49:48 PM
Well see, if you used disappearing regions you don't have to replace it, you can reset the areas upon exiting the stage or something.
Title: Re: Minecraft Thread
Post by: K.G. Morder on June 05, 2013, 04:23:41 PM
Well ive seen some really weird shit that i believe is the use of command blocks, so I suppose you can do that. (stuff like invisible blocks, blocks turned on an angle, etc etc)
Title: Re: Minecraft Thread
Post by: Jorge D. Fuentes on June 08, 2013, 12:35:43 PM
Yeah, I have some knowledge of command blocks.
With the next stage I build (which will probably be a Sky Corridor of some type) I will see if I can build a collapsing bridge.

Essentially, it'd be like this:
-Build the bridge.
-Section off parts of the bridge that'll collapse.
-Save those areas with craftbook (which can toggle cuboid states).
-Build the 'collapsed' version of the same bridge.
-Section off those parts as the off-state of the bridge.
-put a commandblock that's based on how distance from the player, probably halfway through the bridge or something, in a small turret.

The idea would be, as the player passes the 'detection zone' of the command block, he'll trigger the block, which will start to, one by one, 'toggle' the areas behind the player.  It would have to be hooked up to a redstone timer (using repeaters) to, in a few 'ticks' start collapsing the next section, and so on, and so on...

Once the player successfully crosses the bridge, as he enters the door to exit, the door would trigger another commandblock which would 'reset' the bridge back to its off state.
Should the player fail to cross the bridge, he would fall, either to his death (!) or to an alternate pathway that leads somewhere else in the castle.

Right now though the map is set up somewhat in between a SotN and a CV64 style, because you have save rooms, but no warp rooms yet.  I imagine eventually I will build warp rooms so one can go to different stages, etc.

Also, here are links to two Minecraft skins I made:

Simon Belmont - Super Castlevania IV (http://www.planetminecraft.com/skin/simon-belmont---super-castlevania-iv/)
Gabriel Belmont - Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (http://www.planetminecraft.com/skin/gabriel-belmont---castlevania-lords-of-shadow//)
Title: Re: Minecraft Thread
Post by: K.G. Morder on June 08, 2013, 04:49:37 PM
Nifty skins.

yeah I've seen commabd blocks used for things like teleporting and spawn points. So save and warp points would I imagine work like that.
Title: Re: Minecraft Thread
Post by: Jorge D. Fuentes on June 15, 2013, 08:13:08 PM
Well, yes.  Commandblocks can be used to warp to certain coortinates using the teleport command /tp.
However, it's not as 'magical' as using Dimensional Doors, a mod I'm using.

That one actually has doorways that lead to pocket dimensions that can be linked together. :)
For respawning I like using Commandblocks as a setup, rather than putting a bed somewhere.  Plus with the respawn point as commandblock, you can 'save' even if it's night-time, while when there's a bed you'll get "There are monsters nearby" or something.

Had to postpone the sky corridor thing.  Doesn't seem to work well with my current map as if you fall you can potentially sequence-break to new areas (plus I just don't have the height for it; you just don't take that much damage if you fall yet if you're armored well enough).

It might be a little difficult to play on my server though, as it's got a ridiculously large amount of mobs out to get you, some of which can enchant themselves with buffs, etc.

EDIT:
Collapsing Bridge works! Huzzah!

Here's the bridge.  Man, that look perilous:

I feel "Moon Fight" should be playing here.  Here's an angle to show you how high up that bridge is:

When you walk over the bridge, at some point it starts to collapse.
If you're fighting enemies or get hit, you may not make it across.  You gotta run for it!

Here are the pieces as it's falling:

Once you make it all the way across, when you can no longer turn back, and are inside the tower, the bridge resets back to whole again. ;)

No idea what this building should be.  But it's built.

Maybe a dungeon?
Maybe a battle arena?
It's six stories tall, not counting the tower at the other side (which is where you end up if you make it past the collapsing bridge without falling).
The highest story is a roof terrace.

Anyone here ever tried Hexxit? it's a modpack for MC, part of the technic modpack. Think medieval MC. theres castles and towers and shit to raid and loot, more weapons, shields, soul and blood magic shit, and alternate pocket dimension doors.

Its nifty
Title: Re: Minecraft Thread
Post by: Jorge D. Fuentes on July 01, 2013, 07:25:13 AM
I just went over the mod list that the Hexxit modpack has just to see if it matches the mods I'm using.

I can tell that the Hexxit pack is survival/adventure oriented since it has Falling Meteors.  If I had that, my castle would be in danger of falling debris.

It looks like we share similar mods:

Hexxit List
CodeChickenCore
NotEnoughItems
NotEnoughItems Plugins
CoFH Core
BSPKRS Core
Custom LAN Ports
Inventory Tweaks
Treecapitator
Backpacks
Rotten Flesh to Leather
Tinkers Construct
ObsidiPlates
Armor Bar
AsgardShield
AsgardShield AddOns
BackTools
Battle Towers
Better Dungeons
Better Dungeons Data 1
Better Dungeons Data 2
Better Storage
Bibliocraft
Buff Bar
Chococraft
Damage Indicators
Enchanting Plus
Harken Scythe
Infernal Mobs
Legend Gear
Map Writer
Falling Meteors
More Bows
Natura
Off Lawn!
Project Zulu
Ruins
Soul Shards
Twilight Forest
Wild Caves 3
Xeno's Reliquary
Immibis Microblocks
Immibic Core
Hexxit Gear
Ruins Data
Ruins Data 2
Artifice

That's quite a lot of mods, indeed.
I chose not to have NotEnoughItems or TooManyItems because it causes some mods to have some incompatibilities.
Here's my list of mods.  Most are mob-oriented so that the castle has plenty of enemies, hehe:

DIMENSION MODS:
-Erebus: Dimension of the Arthropods
-Atum: Journey into the Sands
-The Twilight Forest
-Dimensional Doors
-Mystcraft

I'd like to add Aether II but it still has many incompatibilities.  I'd also like to add the BetweenLands but it's not out yet.  I'm thinking about adding "The Eternal Frost" but the mechanics within that dimension are a little wonky and I hope it doesn't carry them over to my world.

Mods:
-Bibliocraft
-Buildcraft
-Chainz
-CraftGuide
-CustomNPC's
-Damage Indicators
-Magic Carpets
-Enchaning Plus
-NBTEdit
-Jammy Furniture Mod
-Smart Moving
-Weather and Tornadoes

Biome Mods:
-ExtraBiomesXL
-Underground Biomes
-Better Dungeons
I have to wait until all of my mods update to 1.5.2 before adding Biomes O'Plenty.

Mob Mods:
-Custom Mob Spawner
-Mo'Creatures
-Legendary Beasts
-Grimoire of Gaia 2
-Infernal Mobs
-Lava Monsters
-Mutant Creatures
-Myths and Monsters
-Primitive Mobs
-Reptile Mod
-Chococraft
-Special Mobs
-Utility Mobs
-Zombie Awareness

Mine is not an official modpack because my server is mostly a test.  It's stable though.  However, I realize that Atum is still in Alpha stage as well as a few other mods.

To be honest, we have not encountered any meteors yet. It might be very rare or something. We've had plenty of shooting stars, which do negligible damage, if any, but no meteors.

You should totally do the upside down castle/chaos/whatever thing in limbo. it's so creepy.

then again though, you really cant, since blocks placed in limbo turn to unraveled fabric eventually. AND there's the matter of the Monoliths in the way. (creepy ass mother fuckers) Also, no fall damage.

You COULD however, use the pocket dimensions to build something. Hexxit has so many nifty things.

Umm... okay. :P
Now, I believe I already showed pics of the Villa earlier in this thread, and that hasn't really changed so no new pics.  Here are new pics of stuff:

1. I made a moat bridge that goes to the front entrance of the castle.  Kinda gives it a DraculaXX vibe:
(click to show/hide)

After that, you reach the Castle Wall, which is from CV64.  Although it's not a perfect replica, you still have to hit switches and climb the two gatehouse towers to open the portcullises:
(click to show/hide)

Once you make it past the Castle Wall, you reach the castle entrance.
Currently, this looks kind of like CV1, and kinda like Aria, since there are small areas around the courtyard where one can go and maybe I'll put a salesman there or something:

(click to show/hide)

Now for the entrance hall/main hall/ballroom section:
(click to show/hide)

Eventually one makes it to the Chapel, of which I used a CV1 - Stage 2 type of color:
(click to show/hide)

Afterwards, you make it to the Servants' Quarters/Inner Chambers:
(click to show/hide)

This is followed by the big bridge that takes you to the back areas of the castle:
(click to show/hide)

There are more stages but I don't have pictures of 'em, as I'm not too happy with what they look like yet.  But their buildings are already built.  Just a matter of laying out a path on their inside and decorating them, which I'm having problems with as I've not been feeling too creative lately.

Save Point looks like this:

You step on the button in the center to set your save point.
I may add an ender chest instead of a regular chest, so you can dump items in in order to recollect them should you die.
Save points will link together later on.

The south side of the castle (the back) looks like this:

-I chose the highest mountain somewhat-near the spawn point when the map generated.
-I wanted a Lords of Shadow feel as you try to approach the castle
-I wanted to have more wolves to fight in the vicinity.

I didnt know that wolves appeared more in snow biomes, also all the others reasons are insteresting. Im happy for making this question because now I know that its not just a coincidence but a very well thought thing. :P

LOL there's a desert a few ways away from the castle.
If you ever log on, you'll start at the desert and you'll have to walk north to get to the southern part of the castle (but its entrance is really in the north).
Going northwest from the desert will take you to a plains area.

Yeah, I'd rather have Wolves than Sheep or Cows, plus the biome was more mountainous.  I wouldn't want Dracula's Castle in the desert, nor in the happy plains with cows randomly spawning (though Elephants sometimes spawn in the castle courtyards for some reason).
