cool, hope its soon.

Now do they put these retro titles in any kind of 3-D or is it just standard emulation?
-
Standard emulation, when they shown the 3DS in E3 I thought they will turn every VC game in 3D. How? separating sprites layer from bg layer, so it would looks like these old kids book with animals that "leaped" out from the book.
-
Well, not quite yet, at least not in the States. :-\
I'm sad it didn't become a 3D Classic series game, but it's always fun to take a romp through Dracula's castle in the first game again!

got my copy today :)

I've heard rumors that they have CV2 in the japaneses e-shop.

The 3D Classics series wasn't just separating sprites from backgrounds. There was actually a lot of work involved in making the 3D Classics series and they probably were expecting higher sales at the time. Nintendo's expectations probably were not met so they decided to not bother continuing the 3D Classics line. All the tiles/artwork had to be redone. Sure the sprites were stuck on a separate plane, but you can't add depth to NES backgrounds that way. Kirby was pretty damned impressive for me because they added so much depth to those hills. Some games would fare better than others. Super Mario Bros. 3 would have some areas that wouldn't work, but for the most part that game would ROCK in 3D. Contra is an obvious one. Bionic Commando would be pretty cool. Cabal was on the NES too, wasn't it? Oh god, to have Cabal remade into 3D!! Castlevania could work in 3D, but CV3 would be better. Some games would just work better than others. Metroid would make a bad 3D Classics title in my opinion, for example.

I know, but I thought that they would do the 3D classics in this way when they anounced it. Also it would be a good idea anyway, since trying to add 3D depth to NES games is almost impossible for the majority ot titles and the effect would be cool.

Why the hell would you not want CV2 in the U.S. e-shop? It's a great game.

About time.
Now gimme Dracula's Curse, IV, and a new ReBirth.

It is not a rumor. It is true.

We need Getsu Fuuma here... T.T

I bought CV1 on eShop. Dunno why. I'm not particularly impressed with NES emulation on the 3DS, mostly due to the screen resolution and NES games just looking...off on the system. But whatever, portable NES Castlevania that's more true to the original than the GBA version. I'll take it.
A 3D Qlassiques version woulda been neat, though.
And I second another ReBirth title as a 3DS exclusive, with all the 3D shenanigans and that. With giant 3D-boobed statues and in-your-face stone wangs.
