Title: Bill Murdron's Castlevania Maps
Post by: Reinhart77 on March 28, 2013, 10:10:12 AM
Saw that there's a neat Castlevania I through III map available for pre-order.

Not sure if this should be in the fan forum or not, as I'm guessing this isn't a licensed product.

Nice, I love fan-made material such as this. Another item to add to my massive grand ultimate record-breaking Castlevania collection.

I just wish there was a cloth-variant :/

If this is offical I would certainly buy it. Those demons or whatever look really neat.

Looks pretty cool. Maybe I'll get one? I could always use more Castlevania.

I'd just like a higher resolution image.

That's so cool, I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I had the dough to spare.

They're based on work by Gustave Doré if I'm not mistaken http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Gustave_Dor%C3%A9 (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Gustave_Dor%C3%A9)

I'd just like a higher resolution image.

I love this! I'm going to have to buy one. Probably the best CV fan art I've seen

Definitely an awesome map of CV 1 and 2. I also checked out his Zelda map as well. The only detail of that globe that bothers me is that he has also included Hyrule from the 'Wind Waker' game and it's right beside Zelda 2's Hyrule. Last time I checked Hyrule from the original Zelda series and Hyrule from wind waker were the same. Same Hyrule, just different stories and timelines.

Yeah, me too.  I'd love to study how he blended the Simon's Quest and Dracula's Curse area maps together in more detail.  Guess I'm supposed to actually buy it if I want to do that.  Tempting.

I've just noticed something about the map that is off. Dracula's castle is kind of sitting in a lake whereas in CV 3 it's right on the cusp of the Black sea.

The top of the CV3 maps is cut off so it can be interpreted in any number of ways but also think about this; Dracula's castle is located on in inlet part of the black sea like it was in SotN. So this is also correct apart from the lake. The map just doesn't show it so I guess that Bill Murdron had to take a guess in order to make things fit together.

Man, I'm probably gonna have to just buy this. I'm running out of wall space in my house, though.  :-\ This would be a perfect fit in the basement if I can fit it (it's where I keep virtually all of my gaming stuff). That's incredible.

Yeah, ! always have seen Dracula's castle this way too. But in SQ its is in a lake too right? I dont remember. Maybe we thought that its part of a black sea when its truly a very very large lake? I dont know what to think right now. >.>

Sweet! +1

I love how the CV3 map is incorporated into CV2's.

Honestly I'm not sure. But i do know that in CV 64/LoD, Castlevania is indeed situated in a large lake. I also believe that CV: Adventure ReBirth also had Castlevania in a lake as well. I can only guess that Castlevania just pops up in certain areas of Romania whenever it feel like a new change in scenery.
