Title: Maria
Post by: Pfil on April 17, 2013, 07:25:15 AM
With my bloody spear buried on the ground, dust covers the scene and all I see is death.
What now follows, is a long way home.
We have won the war... but we have lost our souls.

-- .. --

Oh, white light of the moon,
overshadow these halls!
Take this angel with thee
before we’re in the dawn.

Crystals stealing the bright
of the lives that I took.
I can handle this steel
but can’t defeat the Book.

Angel of the Night,
please take my soul.
For I cannot live
without the warming of her soul.

Fairies of the Woods,
don’t let her die.
In the oblivion I’ll stay
for the rest of my life.

No more Kingdoms to save.
No gargoyles left to slay.
Snow covers the Lands
and my gold still remains.

People's back to their lives
thanks to me and my sword.
The Dark Lord is now gone,
but Maria... is no more.

Interesting poem. I keep seeing Maria from SotN but I'm not sure that's who your referring to.

I'LL NEVER BE!
MARIA MAGDALENA
(you're a creature of the night)
MARIA MAGDALENA
(you're a victim of the fight)

 ;D

J/k. But it does sound like it is a poem about Alucard's love for Maria. Very nice, milady!

What part of it reminds you of SotN Maria? I don't see it.

I liked the poem though, its nice.

I liked the poem though, its nice.

For me, its the last two stanzas. But the other stanzas also gave hints.

Though it might be a different Maria.

Thanks to everyone!
The poem is full of metaphors, from things of my life turned into some fantastic ancient setting. It is indeed dedicated to someone. I've been very sad these days (weeks...), and I usually end up writing something. This was the result.
I'd love to read poems from other dungeonites.
Thanks for liking it!

Here's one of mine.

Earth

Is it our nature, finding a place to plant the roots?

A natural urge that knows no boundaries, digging into the ground

Until she soothes and feeds her owner

But she knows better than all

That not eternal is her service to a man

With pride he walks above her till he falls

And she accepts him and would feed

Another passes by, she waits

Without scorn for this is why she is

The next will cut her with the stake

Declaring, you are mine

Then storm would carry all away

But she will stay

No anger, no inequity

Eternal generosity

Mistress of the apathy

Did someone eat her?  Or is this some sort of sequel to that other thing I was talking about? (http://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/index.php/topic,5959.0.html)

It kind of sounds like she's dead.
