Title: Glamorous Death (poem)
Post by: Pfil on May 07, 2013, 04:02:38 AM
I was born in a cradle
made of wood from the forest
and I lived all my life
being good, being honest.

The blue blood did not help me
to find answers or reasons.
All I saw: always empty,
like my face in the mirror.

I learned all in this world
must be earned, perhaps stolen.
But nothing would ever be
what for us we have chosen.

So, I think, after years
of decaying in pride
that it’s time to forget
the remains from the past.

I shall abandon myself
lying quiet and peaceful
‘til the cold arms of Death
are surrounding my Kingdom.

And the day that my flesh
fades away in a coffin.
I just want to be dressed
in dark silk and black satin.

Golden rings in my fingers…
In my heart an old cross…
Things reflecting the bright
that I already lost.

Then my house will be closed
and false tears surely’ll drop.
Someone’ll carry my body.
I’ll be kept in a box.

Dirty worms will be able
to eat all my rotting meat.
Senseless time shall reduce me
to just dust in a crypt.

But nobody, nor nothing
will be able to make
that the jewels on my body
cease to sing black minuets.

The dark banquet is served.
Servant’s ready… Prepare.
An eternal pain’s aching
in my body, in your brain.

Good work! Very macabre. I like the style.

Here's one I wrote yesterday:

Nietzsche

Nietzsche,

Why do you torture me so?

Look what you caused, an imbecile road

Oh students so wise, corpses rot in the cold.

Ignorant as a child, denounce you I could not

But lord, your words tear a gap in the ground

The gap so deep, its bottom unseen

So red is the blood in the depths of within.

A mountain of gravel reaches up to the sky

Another fool to climb up, slip, roll, and to die

In the gap by the dawn, with more blood to supply.

What's your wish, here I beg, have we not suffered enough?

Creation as chaos you toss into the muff

Past and future, all is brought to despair

Confusion of men, does the world need repair?

Farewell, milord, for your teachings I can no longer bear.

Wow... That was awesome Mooning Freddy!
Very Edgar Allan Poe-ish... very dark... I loved it.
And thanks, I'm really glad you liked my poem.
There's this dark side to me, because I really admire Poe and all his works...
I wrote that during a time of great depression and loneliness.
I guess he inspired me from his grave.
Thank you very much!  :)
