[New & Official] Ultimate Edition PC Trailer HD [Castlevania: Lords of Shadow] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0e61DjYffdY#ws)
The title will be released digitally and physically, contains the full game, two add-on chapters.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Ultimate Edition heads to PC
Best-selling Castlevania epic swings on to PC in August
Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced that its acclaimed Castlevania: Lords of Shadow will be released for Windows PC in an Ultimate Edition in August via both physical and digital means.
A stunning sales success since its launch on PlayStation®3 and Xbox 360®, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is a dark and vivid reimagining of the Castlevania mythology. The PC edition features the full game and two add-on chapters, and will be available across Europe to download via Steam on August 27th, with a boxed product following on August 30th.
The stunning 3D epic is set at the end of days and dark powers isolate the Earth. The World’s alliance with the Heavens has been threatened by a dark and malevolent force – the eponymous Lords of Shadow. Across this shattered land, the souls of the dead wander unable to find peace, whilst creatures of evil wreak chaos and death upon the living.
Enter Gabriel Belmont: a member of the Brotherhood of Light, an elite group of holy knights who protect and defend the innocent against the supernatural. His beloved wife was brutally murdered by evil forces and her soul trapped for eternity. Neither living nor dead, she foresees the horrific truth of what is at stake and guides Gabriel to his destiny – and hopefully salvation for the world.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Ultimate Edition boasts a number of key advances:
• New Features: The Ultimate Edition offers the original full game plus add-on content: Reverie and Resurrection. It also boasts enhanced 1080p HD graphics, runs at a solid 60 frames per second via recommended spec, and offers trophy integration through Steam with Cloud saving.
• New Storyline: Players can immerse themselves in the brand-new Lords of Shadow storyline, meeting classic characters and experiencing tangential side stories.
• New Weapons and Skills: Overcome obstacles using the Combat Cross multi-function weapon and hone platforming skills within this sprawling adventure. Swing across chasms, climb sheer walls, rappel down cliffs, grip and pull away obstacles.
• New Titan Battles: Conquer behemoth enemies of terrifying size, where special attacks and cunning speed are required for advancement.
• New Exploration: Explore gothic ruins, dark castles, barren forests and frozen wastelands. Discover a whole world to investigate with many routes and hidden secret places that contain items to aid Gabriel on his quest.
Castlevania Lords of Shadow: Ultimate Edition will be released for Windows PC across Europe via Steam on August 27th, and as a physical product on August 30th.

YEAH! Now I hope my PC will handle that big baby! :D
-
Yay a Castlevania game for the PC...
Screw you MS, I'm not gonna buy it!
-
Great news, can't wait to see this game running at 60 fps.
Odd that the trailer had pre rendered scenes that were still running at 24 fps but the in game cutscenes were running silky smooth.
-
Now people here can hate the game on 1080p
-
60fps and this is the reason right here why I told my friend pc>consoles you cannot beat 60 fps > 30 fps. man I was shocked when I fought pan in a full 30 but 60 man...... I'll never be able to do that :'(
-
modded !
-
Quite a lazy trailer, but pretty neat news. We knew this was happening, I guess LoS2 PC will be announced tomorrow then.
-
modded !
Mod the hell out of it I want to see barbarian Simon mod or SQ Simon
Quite a lazy trailer, but pretty neat news. We knew this was happening, I guess LoS2 PC will be announced tomorrow then.
Wait a minute I notice a theme through out the trailer 90% this and that why did konami not make a commercial out of that like how tomb raider did?
-
Now we can see how the game holds up when you replace the music with classic CV music. I guarantee that makes it 90% better
-
Also, constant good framerate possibly.
-
So basically shading is a lot more solid in this trailer, not to mention the hair animation... Makes him more dashing ~No Homo~
modded !
The question is, how many people are willing to mod this? I don't see a Skyrim Nexus or Steamshop for this.
-
Maybe someone will mod the game to make it good.

Trying to hold my excitement in until I see the system requirements needed for that full 60 FPS 1080p experience. :P
-
Maybe someone will mod the game to make it good.
Maybe someone will mod you so you don't repeat the same sentences.

But seriously, hacking to add more stages, etc. would be welcome.
Hell it's one of the reasons I still play Super Smash Bros. Brawl >.>
-
Mod actual candles to whip, and Medusa Heads.

There's nothing wrong with the sentence, you know...

Mod actual candles to whip, and Medusa Heads.
Now that's what I'm talking about!

Well it's not entirely wrong.

All i have to say ! ;D
-
All I have to say to this is that this music must be modded into the final battle with Satan:
Castlevania: Curse of Darkness - Belmont, the Legend ~ Vs Trevor Belmont (EXTENDED) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hROBPO1Mafc#ws)
-
If I can find a way to mod the music, I'll be super happy! :D
-
Please, please, please...
If someone, some day, puts old Castlevania music into this, please, post the links!
I've been wishing since day 1 for this. I tried it myself muting the game and putting old soundtracks, but it's not the same.
This is not meant as an attack, by the way. It's a request.
Anyway, good news!
-
A music mod is a M~U~S~T!!
And in a stage mod if the shimmying to platforming ratio could be adjusted from 60/40 to 0/100 that would be great too.
Also, a classic game play mod where you don't do combos and the enemies all die in 1-4 hits would amuse the shit outta me too.
(Ooh! Combine that with some ridiculous 8-bit Simon skin and I'd fly away on a ROFL-copter.)
-
Reading about all this moding requests, i can't stop my self from thinking, what Cox will think if he's going to read about them.........

...Okay, that's low. I apologize.

He'll ignore those comments and rave about the upcoming LoS2 game.
I support modding the music!
-
I say mod the s**t out of this game. it's the only way I'd ever want to try it again.
-
I wasn't too excited about the announcement, but then again, if the mods mentioned here do come to fruition (music, character models, etc.) well hot damn, sign me up to be a sucker and buy the same game twice!
-
I very very seriously doubt a lot of the more extreme mods ppl are mentioning will ever come to be. Thatd require actual mod *tools* released for the game which Im about 99.9% sure wont happen. Beyond that itd require community made tools to hack the game which also most likely wont happen because its not likely to be a super popular pc release.
Expect mods more along the lines of Dark Souls on pc instead of Skyrim on pc... Even thats depending on the level of custom storing/encryption on the games files
But still good on them for releasing a pc version. If its like 19.99 it might do ok

No it's not and I wouldn't put it passed the legal department.
Now for some more ideas:
-How about a "Lite mode" hack that just doubles your damage output and disables ALL QTEs?
-Do SOMETHING... ANYTHING... to improve the Titan battles.
-If someone was adept and bad-ass enough, add the Battle Axe, Stop Watch, and Holy Cross as additional sub-weapons.
-Replace the various sub-weapon ammo with hearts along with some breakable candles & shit.
-
I'd like to see:
1) Battle tweaks:
Increased enemy aggression, increased enemy damage, decreased enemy HP. Disabled minor QTE, and auto-completing unavoidable QTE.
2) Music:
Changed music files at least. Easily accessible method perhaps, so custom sound tracks can be made easily. Preferably remove normal badguy 'battle' music triggers except for bosses and mini bosses.
3) Remove shaky cam / snow on lens effect.
4) Change sub weapons:
Change the item drop imagery to hearts, even if it means just replacing every drop model with the same thing. Curse of Darkness had a nice heart design if I recall, with the metal frame around it, giving it a silver color and a red inner heart color. Maybe different colored hearts for each weapon if you can't make it so they all run off of one heart count. Red (inner) and silver (metal frame) for knives, green and yellow for fairies, blue and gold for holy water, and purple and black for the dark crystal.
5) Alternate costumes for Gabriel. At least a Leon, and Trevor from the PS2 titles. Hell, as much as I hate to say it even Judgement's shitty designs might be nice to see.
-
What if Gabe's model was swapped? or is that what you mean?
Also, man, I REALLY love that piano piece. I hope we can hear it in game somewhere.
-
I think this has not been posted yet.

-
Yeah, I mean a model swap for Gabe. It'll be a bit of work to make it fit the animations but it would be awesome to see. Of course theres nothing ruling the creation of a new model out, but quality is a concern.
-
No it's not and I wouldn't put it passed the legal department.
What of that one PS3 case in which a hacker was sued for modding his PS3 to run Linux? (Comic dramatization, sexually suggestive humor, NSFW ads, yadda yadda yadda.) (http://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/914301)
-How about a "Lite mode" hack that just doubles your damage output and disables ALL QTEs?
-Do SOMETHING... ANYTHING... to improve the Titan battles.
These would be top priority.
-
This is awesome news! I was hoping they'd release LoS for PC because I've been moving away from console and more towards PC gaming. Nice to know Konami is supporting the PC a bit more. It'll be nice to be able to carry this around on my laptop.
-

This was also the case in LoI. But the LoI version of hearts had better and smoother details then the rough blockly ones from CoD. you can see them here for a comparison;

Ah, I thought so. I just figured CoD's would have been better being released later... I should have checked, haha. Thanks for the heads up.
By the way, one of your links is a link to reply to a thread. I get the idea though.
-
Maybe he sends another spanish friend of his to flood the Dungeon with LoS' praise :P
And why, I mean, WHY -1 on this comment I made?
Anyone felt offended by this?
I'm part spanish, so I can joke about this.
And I guess everyone knows that with Skycaptain and the Reviewer this is a subject for joking.
Anyway... the -1ers will -1.
-

Is it possible to add Sypha or Shanoa from Judgment?

Funny, I see a +1, not a -1.

Funny, I see a +1, not a -1.
It seems someone already fixed it.
Whoever did it, thanks! :)
-

I don't see why not. Good idea, but that will make you want to change the voices :P
-
Also, seeing them using a whip would be ridiculous.
-

There seems to be a sort of mini trend in the romhacking community right now for swapping out heroes for heroines. Ever since that one dude hacked Donkey Kong so his little girl could play as Pauline there have been quite a few interesting little hacks coming out. So, you never know, someone might just go to the trouble.
Oh! Oh! How has someone not not mentioned this one yet? Replace all the audio files of Zobek droning on about existential nonsense with amusing audio clips of Captain Picard???
-
Wa-wa-wait, hold your horses. We don't know yet if the game is gonna be moddable/how moddable is it gonna be. For example: In Resident Evil 4 you can add new models, switch various models of the game and switch animations. But RE5 only has skin mods, game model switching and animation switching. DMC only has skin mods because switching models cause them to be really buggy. Tomb Raider Legend/Anniversary/Underworld only have skin mods and so.
Don't get too excited because you may be let down
-
It all boils down to how much time the fanbase is willing to put into analyzing the data structures of the game.
If little, no mods, or maybe a music mod.
If a lot, expect custom player models and more.
-
thats exactly what I said earlier on but I guess all the wishful hopin is makin ppl ignore it!
uzo replied at the same time:
That also depends on how easy/difficult it is to crack however the stuffs stored in those data structures. That kinda thing drastically limits what can be done. Does anyone know what engine MS used to make it?
-
ugh, i hate pc games, just because i don't enjoy making modifications to my pc in order to be able to play the latest games. guess i'll miss out on anything new and interesting that they might add to the game. oh well.

My VGA (a GTS 250, from 2008) still play games from 2012. I don't get the best graphics they have, but I can get 60FPS with 720p in most of the games (for example, Sonic Generations). And that's what matters for me.
So, yeah, this is a misconception. You don't need to have the best hardware to play newer games at all, with a medium GPU from 2012 you can play games until 2016~18.

Because that's any different than having to buy a new console for new games that run on them?
Also there's always options to lower the settings. And if your PC cannot handle a game even with lowered settings, then you probably should not be PC gaming, or should invest in a better computer.
-
Looking forward to LoS Ultimate Edition on Steam. I have not owned a console in awhile and at the rate it is going I never plan to.

Well it sounds like you won't miss out on anything new. I bought LoS used and bought the DLC but I'll likely buy this again because it'd be nice to have it on PC. I can't imagine this game would call for really high end specs so your PC will probably play it.

Yeah a lot of PC games are a year or more behind on specs because they figure a lot of people haven't caught up. So if your PC isn't up to date, you can still probably run a lot of current games.
-
As much as I complained about the original Lords of Shadow, I'd be willing to 100% it all over again if they add new music, playable characters, costumes and that kind of stuff.
The first thing I would get rid of is the battle music. Let the ambience track keep playing, so we can feel a sense of continuity on the stage, and not that feeling of "now I'm exploring, now I'm fighting, now I'm exploring again".
That became more evident in Mirror of Fate, but it was present in LoS already.
