Yesterday, I was talking to a GameStop employee and asking about their used PSPs. I have DXC but never got around to getting a PSP. He said I should be able to purchase DXC on the PlayStation Store and play it on my PS3. Is this true?

From what I've gathered, it's not available. It is, however, available to download for PS Vita.
But what I recommend to you is that if you have a PS3 with jailbreak, that you search for PSP Mini Dracula X Chronicles, and that way you can play it on your PS3. If your PS3 is original, don't worry, you can download and install Rogero and you'll be able to play all games from PS1-2-3-PSP (I'm not sure if it's against the rules to say this in the forum; if not, my apologies).

It's not illegal to talk about that stuff, as long as you don't post links to download sites.
It's somewhat of a gray area in terms of the rules.
However, in my years doing admin work here, I have not seen any gaming companies crack down on us for talking about emulation. In fact, I talk about it quite often. The way I see it, as long as you're not linking to download sites for ISO's and ROMs, you should be in the clear.

if you have an hd tv you can buy a pspcable hd/tv cable thing and play off your psp as a controller and play right on your tv. It's how I play persona 2 internal punishment and persona 3, heck it's how I play my psp now you can't beat it. but you have to possess a hd tv otherwise it will not work.

It looks great when you connect the PSP to an HDTV, but from my experience so far, the PS3 emulates the PSP perfectly, since (if I understand correctly) it emulates it by hardware, and not by software.
From the PSP games I've played so far on PS3 (DXC, Maverick Hunter, Prinny, Valkyria Chronicles 2), everything worked perfectly.
It's a great option for people who owns a PS3 but not a PSP.
