This might be old news? Anywho LoI is on PSN for 10 dollars if anyone is interested.
-
Is that so? Hmm, if I didn't already have a copy, I'd snag that. It's worth $10.
-
I noticed another Konami PS2 great, Contra: Shattered Soldier is there as well.
I'm sorta tempted to buy, but I don't know how these games look on the PS3. Are they upscaled to 1080p? I tried Silent Hill 3 upscaled on my brother's PS3 once and wasn't terribly impressed.

They look SD

I encourage supporting LoI's sales numbers, and classic titles from Castlevania, but to be honest, PS2 games don't look good on a PS3 with a HDTV.
What I recommend is to emulate it. CoD and LoI (as well as Judgment, and any other PS2 and Wii games) look AWESOME in HD, and they are emulated perfectly with today's emulators and computers.

I already own the game but I like LoI a lot. Who knows I might download it
-
OMG :D
Is it for PS3 or PS Vita?
-
if it was CoD Id get it

I was on ps3 when I saw it but who knows it could be on vita

I own a ps2 copy of this but I'm happy that it was brought out again for some of the newer generation of CV fans!
-
awesome! i can play without hooking up my ps2 now (and I don't have to dink around with S-Video pins anymore in order to get the best resolution). unfortunately, i'll be grumbling in a little while whenever I get a PS4 that I have to have my PS3 hooked up to play LoI, but whatever.
-
Purchased it earlier today and played through some of it. Since I don't own a physical copy nor could I find one, buying it and downloading it off the PSN was the only option.
-
How does it look compared to the PS2 version? I figure it may be worth a replay sometime soon, and if it looks better I might as well get it on PS3. Probably loads faster and has less slowdown too.
-
As far as I can tell there were no lengthy load times, or load times for that matter. I was so immersed in the game that I didn't bother to notice, lol! But I did notice that the graphics were a little more hard-lined then what I was accustomed to seeing. But on a plus-note, Leon's strange zombie-eyed look in the character screen is fix somewhat. And from what I could tell from playing the game, I think the difficulty has been upped somewhat but only marginally. Then again it's been awhile since I last played LoI.

Bumping this up because now Amazon is also selling PSN games and LoI is among the first batch offered.

Ooohhh, shiny! :D Does anyone know whether LoI is available on the PSN in Europe by any chance through any means? I have a PS2 copy, however, I don't have a PS2 to play it on of my own.
CoD on the network would be shiny indeed. Heck, making as many of these games as possible available would be awesome.

I might have to download this and Shattered Soldier soon to see how they look and because I have a hankering, but daaaaaamn is ten bucks a lot of scratch for games I already paid full price for.
I could just play 'em on my little 13" tube... It's got boss speakers and sharp picture at least.

Just downloaded Contra: Shattered Soldier and I think it looks awesome. When you switch the view mode from Normal to Off, it displays the game in its native 640x480 res, except now progressive scan, which I don't think the original PS2 game had the option. It looks minty crisp on my HDTV, yo (far better than what component cables did for PS2 games that utilize 480p). Not as good as an uprezzed conversion, but still bangin', and I can switch my TV from Native (no overscan) to Natural and it'll fill the image out to the top and bottom of the screen. Now I REALLY wish I had a PS3 that plays PS2 discs. Would it really be so difficult for Sony to release firmware that emulates PS2 games from the discs? For that matter, why can't PSP downloads be played on a PS3? Razzin' frazzin'...
Definitely gonna hafta get Lament of Innocence now.

The last time I checked you can download an emulation program off the PSNetwork in order to play PS2 disks on the PS3. Don't know about the PS1 though. Mine is an older PS3 system so it is already backwards compatible.

Japanese version of LOI and COD have been on for quite some time if anyone is interested. Just download PSNStuff for anyone that knows what I am talking about...
On a side note I already seen Shattered Soldier and Neo Contra from there..
