Okay, so with all these new facts and tibits coming out for Lords of Shadow 2, I wanted to start a new topic that is based around the overall abilities of Lord Dracula. What abilities and moves do you want our good ol' Prince of Darkness to have during it's release? I personally enjoyed the combat system of the first game (I actually wrote a guide for it, but took it down some time ago; but I plan on doing a huge CV walkthrough project just as soon as I can get my hands on a PSP to play DXC again.)
Here is what I want to see -
- Mist Form
- Bat Form
- Wolf Form
- Teleportation (Hellfire)
- Ultimate Form (final form)
Anything you guys want to see? :D
-
- Hellfire
- Soul Steal
- Dark Metamorphosis
- Demonic Megiddo
- Destruction Beam
- Fatal Rain
- Bloody Storm (?)
- A spear (He is a impaler right?)
- Bat swarm
- Teleport (that can be used for dodging AND to acess another areas quickly, like a library card)
- Familiars (bats, wolfs and all sort of monsters or humans to be manipulated)
- Dracula's creditcard (like Batman's creditcard)
-
I thought that this thread was supposed to be about LoS2, but what you guys just described were all the abilities of the Dracula from the old cannon. This Dracula is different. I like what I saw in the demo, but I think that they can be taken farther (and from what I hear, they will be). Here's what I would like to see:
- Elemental properties that give certain skills special effects as well as enemies that have different elemental resistances and weaknesses that can be exploited
- Mist form to avoid enemy attacks and transverse certain areas
- Buffs that enhance your weapons (examples: void sword heals you more, demon claw attack speed increases)
- Combos will your weapons that end with a devastating finishing move. (example: after a combo with the void sword, Dracula stabs the ground with it and a bunch of void blades come out of the ground attacking all near by enemies as an AoE finisher)
- A passive survival ability that increases your speed, strength, and defense by 10% when your health drops below 10%. Sort of an all or nothing scenario like something you would expect from some one when they are cornered and they are mere inches away from dying.
- A double (or maybe triple) jump
- Teleporting short distances when climbing structures
-
The ability to turn it off without having to get off my couch.

It's about what we want to see in LoS2, not about LoS2. And if they want to see old school stuff, what's the problem?
-
I want every ability ever seen from Dracula and every ability ever seen from Alucard, and some new ones if possible.
It could be cool to be an all-powerful Dracula that blasts everything in his way.
-
I want to see a move where Drabriel turns men in women, like Dmitri does.
-
Cookie Monster form ;) Not a puff of smoke.
-
Any form of flight, weather it be momentary or not. Even levitation is acceptable.

Would you accept super jumps or warping between to nearby points like over a large gap?
-
A double jump is something that will happen near the end of the game, that's for damn sure!
I want to see some sub-weapons, some magic, like Hellfire or some shit... that would be cool.

Super jumps are fine.

Double jump has been confirmed from one of Destructoids previews IIRC.

-Wall Crawling, fuck ledges and pits and fall damage this is supposed to be the king of all vampires.
-Teleportation, see above.
-Demon form modeled after old canon.
-Wolf form.
-Bat form.
-Mist form.
Unfortunately, I don't see us getting anything more than "Legacy May Cry". :P
-
The dragon form for more than one stage.
-
The ability to jump/fly/whatever some platforming parts without invisible walls interfering.
-
Summon familiars like the innocent devils of Curse of Darkness or the Darklings of the Darkness games.
-
I know it won't happen, but...I want to be able to finally swim.
-
You can swim in MoF.
-
Haven't played MoF. No 3DS, sadly.
And you can swim in Aria/Dawn and Symphony, too, but holes filled with water seem to be the Belmonts' number one enemy.

I actually have a theory about that. It is based on how the whip was completed in LoI. To turn the Whip of Alchemy into the Vampire Killer, Leon had to go through a ritual in which he needed someone tainted by a vampire (Sara). My theory is that because of that ritual not only was the whip completed, but Leon was also granted the power to compete with vampires on near equal footing by giving some vampiric power which is passed on to his descendants. Don't believe me? How else was Trevor able to survive being stabbed by Issac in CoD. Yes, he nearly died, but I heard something about him getting up and leaving the following day. Any normal human would have died. And, if by some miracle they survived, they would be bedridden for a while. Hell, in real life, despite our advanced health care, people who are stabbed in that area are still in intensive care for a few days. Hence, why I think the Belmonts have some vampiric power. Well, at least in terms of surviving wounds and healing. And, if this is the case, I believe the price for all of this is not being able to swim. After all, in most of the vampire lore I know, vampires have issues with water. Thus, if the Belmonts indeed have even a small amount of vampiric power, this could account for the lack of swimming.
Don't kill me, but this is something that popped into my head when I heard that Trevor walked away after being stabbed like that in CoD. Then again, it's only something I heard from someone so I can't say if that's the case. If it isn't, then maybe my theory is wrong. But still, the fact that the Belmonts can't seem to swim and that ritual makes wonder....

I'd buy that theory. It makes about as much sense as the rest of the canon plotline.
-
That actually is a pretty good theory and it would jive with the people of Walachia becoming afraid of the clan to the point of having banished them until they were neck deep in shit upon the rise of Dracula in the 1400s.

NONSENSE. He wouldn't be a proper Belmont if he didn't drown upon touching a puddle.
Also, he's a Vampire, so he couldn't cross running water either. So he's DOUBLE whammied.

Wow!!! Just....Wow!!! I'm surprised that you guys would actually buy my theory. I thought for sure that everyone would say that I'm full of crap and my theory was blasphemy. Thanks for the support.
-
No way, it was a great theory.
You should write the next game!
-
If you're the top of the heap undead monster boss guy, then you should be able to summon monsters to fight for you.
And you should be able to make them do the Thriller Dance.
-
I really think re animation of corpses would be great.
-
Yeah, having some sort of necromantic ability would be kind of cool, but 1) most of the enemies seem to explode when you kill them and 2) isn't necromancy Zobek's shtick?
-
Maybe you could bite or mesmerize an enemy and temporarily put them under your control.
