Title: Ever have any Castlevania games that been stolen?
Post by: The Belmont Pizza on August 09, 2013, 01:35:29 AM
Recently, I was in the mood to play all 3 of Castlevania DS games and I haven't play it forever! So, I was looking through my collection and all of my DS games collection gone! I feel like crap because I never notice it been missing since recently. I dont remember the last time I played nor how long it been missing.  I never thought in my entire life someone would steal my Castlevania games. Look like I'll have to buy it again, ugh!

Anyone else ever have any Castlevania games stolen?

I was convinced for a while that a former roommate had stolen my PS1 copy of Symphony of the Night. So I bought another copy only to find my old one a year or so later. It worked out though because then I had an extra to give my girlfriend on her birthday. She's not played it yet but she did buy me a steam copy of "Guacamelee!" yesterday so she does approve of Metroidvanias at least in theory heh.

I've had two Circle of the Moon cartridges stolen by two different people, though it was years ago. I also had my copy of 64 lend-stolen, so I never finished it until I learned what emulation was. :>

Stolen: None

Lost: None

Lent out and didn't get back: None

Sold: None

I guess you could say that I've got a perfect record when it comes to my things. I do however know a friend that did have his copy of CotM stolen and he loved that game to death. This was years ago and it still gets under his skin. And it's not like he can simply get a hold of a new copy without having to go to the internet to do so.

Not a CV game, but a guy stole a Final Fantasy VIII from me, one of my favorite games. I try to not punch his face every time that I see him, since he doesnt want to pay for it.

Go steal it back, then. But be cunning and take only the discs, leaving the case for the lulz.

That really does suck, though. Sorry to hear it.

I know that feel. I know that feel times two.

I know that feel times four if you count the four discs lol

Also he did it with me, my first CD was in his couch and my other 3 and the case were with me, since everyone that I knew would put the CDs back in the case after using it, I dont expected that he would do that. I returned to his home only to hear that he cant find it. Months after the case with the 3 CDs  were missing... from MY HOUSE. So I know that he stole it to play the rest of the game, even if he doesnt admit. Syphon Filter 2 Disc 1 and Parasite Eve 2 Disc 1 had the same fate at this day, at least he "found" Parasite Eve 2 and returned it to me (Since it seems that he really wanted to play it with me).

No but I have had some lent out for a very long time.

I'm on the opposite end of this. I've been holding onto my best friend's copy of SOTN for 15 years and feel rather guilty about it.

Then again, he's never asked for it back. And we see each other frequently.

I honestly guard my Castlevania, Metal Gear and Zone of the Enders games like a hawk. But as for the topic at hand, I actually had to re-buy Symphony of the Night at least 10 times (DXC was my 11th if you count that portion) because either the CD got stolen and or the cd got cracked/broken and or scratched up so bad that the game didn't work anymore.

But, as for the scratches and stuff, I sorta played SoTN to death :P

December of 2011 someone broke into my apartment and ransacked my livingroom. I kept all my portable gaming stuff in a drawer under the TV, and that had been emptied. So... I've had all the portables stolen. PoR is the exception though, because it was lost in my car. I later found it, fortunately before getting around to replacing it. I have some really great friends who helped kickstart my repurchasing by buying a few of the portable Castlevanias I'd talked about the most. I love my buddies. I still have yet to replace Dawn of Sorrow, and all of the original Gameboy titles. I had them all previously.

Who steals video games? Srsly.

"Ok, Bob, take that jewelry, the money from the safe, and... hey is that a Symphony of the Night cartridge?"

As for the "borrowed it and never bothered returning", I had this quite a lot. I had a friend who borrowed a game of mine and then he lent it to his friend, who never gave it back. Yeah.
Also I was stupid enough to lend one of my favorite books to a friend and it doesn't seem like she's ever giving it back. Last time I checked she said she didn't have time to read it yet although she wants to, that was a year after I lent it to her, lol.

People steal games to resell to Gamestop to get like, I dunno, $2.75 total for like 40 games. I'm probably overestimating there.

Then Gamestop sell them for like...  $50~150 for collectors on internet xD

I stole 2 games... though not really. One game was Castlevania Chronicles. I went to a friend's friend's house and borrowed from the friend's friend. But he never went back there, and I have no idea where the house is. No idea where it is now.

Another was Final Fantasy Tactics. I borrowed it from a friend, and I suddenly moved away. Didn't even have time to tell the school I moved. Met him again like 2 or 3 years later and he's like... Oh I don't care.
