I want to get.. but I own neither a PS3 or an Xbox360... If ever plan on getting one, which should I get? I was considering PS3, but it depends on which of the two the next Castlevania will be on.

You may want to wait on that then.

I actually have both promos, (ps3 and xb360) though I'm not spoiling things, don't worry. So far I'm on the seventh mission and the game is really fun. I love the combat, the level design, the graphics... though I'm shocked how easy it is compared to DMC3. Though I'm obviously playing on the "human" difficulty level as we speak, so that might explain it.

Is human difficulty the same as normal mode?

IGA's confirmed the next CV to be on 360.

Both are very good systems.

As for DMC4, I can't wait for it. I reserved the special edition because my best friend wanted the anime and I wanted the soundtrack with the game.

Your friend may be disappointed, if s/he's interested in the anime.  Word has it that, with the exception of the DMC4 special edition, ADV's American release of the series has been canceled.

I know you are jokin, but the release date for the pc version is 4/18 unless the date on the Gamestop site is unaccurate and/or outdated.

Wait, does the special edition come with the soundtrack and anime??!!!  :o  :o  :o  :o  That would settle it, one way or another, I've got to get an xBox 360, or a PS3. And if Iga isn't porting the nerxt CV to PS3, then he's a poophead. I would personally prefer PS3. And is Resident Evil 5 for both X360 and PS3, cause I'm kinda in love with that series now, just bought all three movies now, and the essentials pack a few weeks ago.

Whoooo, I just beat DMC 3 (Dante's awakening, not special edition), and yeah, I am still pumped for 4!

I hear you can put the disk in and it will download or someting for about 20 min on the ps3 version (you only have to do it once) Then it will play with "SNES speed". Seemless loading or something to that effect.

Yeah, and it really helps the game. Plus, while you're installing, you get to read the complete story of DMC1,2 and 3. Presented in a rather dull fashion, but helpful nonetheless. I never played through the other games, so it was a good introduction. Albeit full of spoilers.

IGA announced the console CV to be for the suXbox 3shitty? Goddamnit, I was hoping for it to be PS3! I'll never support Microsoft, screw them. Goddamnit IGA, you are messing up. You had SOTN and Drac X Chronicles on Sony consoles, so why the hell don't you keep it that way? :(

Because hes smart....? CV does good in america, 360 does good in america.

Its like adding 1 and 1 together. Not that hard to figure out.

Xbox is hueg, but at least not as ridiculously priced as ps3. :o

For the price of a single bare bones ps3 I could buy two xbox360s here. :o

And DMC4 is AWESOME.  Can't stop playing, and it did come with 4 eps. of the anime... but the anime's not very good, not at all.

I'd rather pay almost twice the price of an Xbox for a PS3, because I feel I'd get a lot more out of it. Let's see...Free online, Xbox makes you pay, because Microsoft needs more money for some reason. PS3 has more power, and in a while when they can truly utilize all of it I bet we'll be seeing some outrageously gorgeous shit. What else? Oh, the Xbox controller is crap, unless you play FPS games. PS is good for any type of game, even fighting games, cause that weird ass D pad is actually surprisingly very accurate.

Don't forget the loads of exclusives PS3 is getting this year. What else does Xbox have other than Halo that PS3 doesn't? Nothing really from what I can tell, so I'm gonna eventually get the system that has more exclusives that are more appealing to me.

If IGA wanted to make a really smart marketing decision, then he should just release the game on both consoles. Shouldn't be that hard, Rockstar is doing it for GTA4, and that looks pretty damn nice. Appealing to the wider audience is a smart marketing decision like you said, but there's no reason why he couldn't appeal to an even wider audience by putting it on both consoles.

Lost Odyssey? Gears of War? Mass Effect?  BioShock? Splinter Cell: Conviction?
I didn't think fanboyism like this still existed.  This could provide some epic lulz...

But yeah, back on topic. I ordered my copy of DMC4, and I should be playing it on Friday.  From the different reviews of the game, I don't think I'll be dissapointed.
So, what difficulty mode are my fellow RSU members playing on?

I find it funny over 1/2 the games you mentioned are FPS. Basicaly all I see the Xbox as being any good for, and Bioshock is on PC as well and I played it, and I considered it to be a pretty average shooter. Nothing it did wowed me like it did its reviewers and other followers.

If I had a PS3 I'd be playing DMC4 like you guys, cause I played the shit out of 1 and 3, cause 2 obviously sucks like most people know.

Since when did Lost Odyssey, Gears of War, Mass Effect, and  Splinter Cell: Conviction become FPS?

2 is a third person game, one a shooter and another an rpg. Lost Oddyssey is an RPG, and SPlinter Cell has always been Stealth Espionage.

Oh yes... you are obviously blinded by fanboyism. I'm sorry that I overestimated you.

Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom, Eternal Sonata, Mass Effect are all exclusive 360 RPGs.

Grand Theft Auto 4 is gonna have exclusive content on the 360 not available on the PS3.

As for the controller, the two are exactly the same with the exception of the location of the D-pad. The Sixaxis's L2 and R2 buttons are even more trigger-like. I actually think the 360 controller feels better ergonomically than the Sixaxis.

The Sixaxis is also very weak-feeling due to the loss of rumble tech. The Dualshock3 is supposed to feel a lot more solid.

Anyway.

Off of the console bashing, guys, back to glorifying DMC4 no matter what system you're gonna get it on, 360, PS3 or PC.

In the magical land of europe, where gaming is considered something for kids. And a ps3 costs the equivalent of $1300.

This game has some awesome platforming. They really made great use of Nero's Devil Bringer. Oh, and the music is awesome.

Also, if any of you post spoilers in this thread (Like I know some people here like to do) I will find out where you live, and drive my fucking car through your house.

Thank you.

Eternal Sonata isn't 360 exclusive, atleast not anymore, its suppose to be comign to Ps3 and improved, I hear.

As for DMC4, I liked it but it didn't really attract me all that much. But I've only played the demo.

Statesside Eternal Sonata is a 360 exclusive. It's been cancelled for the PS3 release. Far as I know, it's only getting released in Japan.

And the only things they're adding are a couple new characters and a stage or two. Nothing about the game itself is being made "better".

Ah, okay. I just heard they got added content. I didn't hear about the release area or otherwise since the demo was good but I hear the game was easy and pretty short.

I bet you if there is a shift in power of the console wars in the America (i.e. the Ps3 taking Xbox's exclusives,) some ppl will blame xenophobia on Japan.  It is already happening on Joystiq.com whenever someone mentions why the Xbox isn't sold there.  *sigh*

Not trying to continue a bash, but the reason why the Xbox doesn't do well in Japan (as well as Europe, which those who claims racism, ignores,) is because the games are caters to western audience for the 360.  It would take time for the majority of japan to adjust to western games.

I mean, in america, dubbed anime has been out for decades, but as of the late 90s-early 0s', it has finally been recongized by mainstream america.  Ppl who are saying Japan is Xenophobic because the 360 doesn't sell better there are idiots.  The ipod sells better than the sony's mp3 player over there and they are still xenophobic because the Xbox 360 doesn't sell well.  Sorry, but I venting my anger from the ignorance posts I read on Joystiq and not here.

Anyway, for those who tried to get the free dvd cover from advfilms site like me, may not have any luck in doing so since the official DMC anime site doesn't exist and there is no mention of DMC on the adv website.  I think vol 1 is the only one we would get.  A shame since despite the anime seems lackluster compared to the game (who can blame them since the anime seems to be intended as filler cases of sorts where Dante does some demon hunting as day job as oppose to doing it because it has something to do with him or his father;) it gives us a glimpse of what Dante does for a living other than trying to resolve something in his past.

However, I think I like the dubbed version over the subtitle one, which is rare for me.  I was a bit curious on how they would alter the lines to make Dante more "acceptable" to english speakers; I seen a fansub of the first episode months ago and wasn't sure if the lines that Dante said in the opening scene of ep 1 would be translated faithfully since he said "Mr. Royal Flush" and "Bingo," would sound right in english. To my suprised, the lines were kept in the US dubbed and were pulled off nicely;  I was suprised and because of this,  I liked the dubbed version thought I might bias since the english is "officially the real version" simply because the games are in english even in Japan and the voice actor who does Dante in the anime, also voiced Dante in DMC3 and DMC4.
Usually, I like subtitle over dubbed.  However, I think they did a good job on the dubbed.

Also, another shocker to me that the localization of the anime doesn't suffer much in terms of dialoge. In some anime, mostly those dubbed by 4kids and Pioneer/Geneon had the entire dialogue rewritten with american pop culture references and  "new" information added into make it "acceptable" to english speakers. Those are the dubs I tend not to like since it isn't true to the eyes original staff

Sorry Kale that I consider 3rd person shooters still shooters You're doing the exact same thing, 'cept it's from a different perspective. So quick to bash you guys are, simmer down and go play as Nero more or something O.O.

I wish I didn't read the Nero saves Dante thing. Seems like a good idea to make the main character of DMC look kinda weak(in this game) and need saving by a guy who looks slightly different than him. Weird.

Oh, and I don't own a PS3. Gimme money over Paypal and I'll go gladly buy one, though.

So I'm guessing you are saying Devil may cry and Ninja Gaiden are FPS too then, since in Ninja Gaiden you use a bow that you do the same thing with, shoot. As well As Devil May Cry, the first atleast but hey, the ones after that you shoot at 3rd person too! I guess they are FPS's now that I applied your logic to it.

I can see I'm wrong now. Thanks for making me see the light, as one would say.

Ah that's good to hear, 'cause that sounded damn strange.

Yeah I mean, you don't even get a crosshair in DMC when you shoot people, it just highlights them with a weird circle thing, silly ass auto-aim feature. Nothing like shooting someone then slicing them with your sword, FPS style. Wait? what're we talking about now? Max Payne? He had swords too y'know, but most of the time he only had access to bats when killing people, other than his gun.

Sometimes I wish I had enough red orbs to upgrade my sword, so I could be on the same level of Sparda, and one shot everyone, especially when I level up my gun so I can get 100% headshots.

Beat Devil Hunter mode recently, and unlocked that "secret" ending before I even knew it was a secret *thinks about ending pose*...so, this whole time, DMCIV was really just a sequel to Charley's Angel's.
I'd play Son of Sparda mode, but I'm about to hit EXTREME STUDY ADVENTURES!!  In other words, my schedule is going to be jam-packed if I don't start getting even more serious about my studies then I already am...*looks both ways* plus , I just picked up King of Fighters XI...
