A video game giant, the former president of Nintendo (1949-2002), dies today at 85. With his business sense, he helped to usher in a new era of gaming and made Nintendo a household name. Rest in peace.

Tough old man, but he had great business sense.
Even though he did not really know much about games, he still gave it his all when it came to 'em.
-
The man helped shape the industry and molded Nintendo to what it is today (for better or worse).
R.I.P.

My respects for him. We wouldn't have Nintendo and I don't know what games would be today.
-
I saw this news this morning too, first Yokoi, now him... :(
Rest in peace man, I wish that you continue doing games in the clouds.
-
It just wouldn't be paradise above without our video games. ;)

More info about him and a Iwata declaration:

RIP Mr. Yamauchi :(
-
The man found a way to make someone like me, who starved for games after the console crash, care about video games again right away.
Thank you Mr Yamauchi, R.I.P..
