The more I use it, the shittier this program seems. It's the least intuitive image editing software I've ever encountered. Being able to alter the palette data easily is the only reason I ever kept it on my computer anyway. Rectangle Selection Tool doesn't select anything -- you have to perform key combo magic if you want that to happen. Want to change your selection manually? You need to do more key combo magic or else it will delete the part of the image that was previously selected (after doing key magic). It can't recognize data from YYCHR or Tile Molester (Paintshop Pro can, which is what I use 99% of the time). The toolbars don't lock and, unless I'm missing something, can't even be resized in some cases. Anytime I use GIMP for spritework, I just make each frame of the sprite in PSP then paste it into GIMP to modify the palette data, which is literally 10x faster than using GIMP alone.
Even by freeware/shareware standards it seems like a load of crap compared to other graphics programs out there. What's the fascination with it?

The only reason why I keep GIMP on my machine is due to the planet-making tutorial. I'm still figuring out how to use it, but once I do I can go no-holds-barred with future images.

I cant stand it. Its like the older versions of Blender but for strictly 2d. I dunno how ppl ever get anything done with it. Ill stick to paint shop pro.

Yeah, I have GIMP installed but I almost always choose to use an old PaintShopPro7 cracked version from ages ago instead.
