Hey guys, I have a question and couldn't find the answer anywhere on the net. At the beginning of the track moon fight in dracula x chronicles, there is a short 8 seconds long epic intro that plays and then abruptly stops. It is very weird how it just stops short. I was wondering, is this part of a bigger track? Cause it is awesome. It's just weird how it stops and then picks up on moon fight. Any thoughts?

I don't think it is, yet the tune does sound somewhat incomplete. I also really like this tune. It has a sort of epic punch to it. It's a shame that it was used for the hidden stage rather then one of the main ones. Or I guess it's a shame you have to finish the game in order to unlock the hidden stage rather then unlocking it beforehand. That should have been fixed in DXC.

I'm sorry if I don't follow but I'm talking here about the last stage in rondo of blood for PSP. I don't really understand what you mean by unlocking the hidden stage. The 8 seconds bit I'm talking is the last stage of the game and is called Moon Fight. So I'm not quite sure if we are talking about the same thing here, but if not, my mistake, I didn't formulate the question so well. But if we are talking about the same thing, then yes, it's a shame they didn't include this tune as a full 2-3 minutes piece of music. Anyways, thanks for the reply. To clarify, the 7 seconds I'm talking about are here Moon Fight - Music from Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xAq_3bApLA#)

X-sama is thinking of Tues Deus Meus.
As for Moon Fight, yeah, I noticed the intro was weird right from the moment they started releasing preview videos (when for some reason the stage 1 theme was Beginning). I guess the intent behind the intro was to make sound a like a sampled piece before segueing into Moon Fight itself. It doesn't really work and comes off as jarring. It was an odd choice to use Moon Fight there to begin with, given that an arranged version of The Den is already there, albeit as an unlockable.
It also doesn't come close to topping the arrange version of Moon Fight from Castlevania Chronicles.

The chorus that begins the track is simply an addition that was made as an arrangement of the original. An embellishment, if you will. Nothing beyond that.
The fact is that Moon Fight is not even in the original Rondo of Blood game. It's originally from Akumajou X68000/Castlevania Chronicles, and takes the place of "The Den" track....which was not in the game itself except as an unlockable but was on the Dracula X Chronicles OST.
X is thinking of "Red Dawn" I do believe. That was the track composed for the game and used for the Hidden Docks.

Woops! My bad. Thanks for the clarification Sindra. I had the two songs mixed up :-[

Thank you for clarifying. They could have made the chorus transition more elegant, cause that's what led me to believe there was more to it. So that's all there is to it, i'll have to satisfy myself with that 8) . thanks guys.

I always liked that intro. Yeah, it's a bit jarring, but the buildup of it is really cool and well done, and I like how you have that split second of silence before the track comes in.
I don't remember the version of Moon Fight in Chronicles. O_o Which stage was it in?

First part of stage 6 is where Moon Fight plays.

I haven't played Chronicles in awhile. Maybe I'll have to boot that one up and take a listen. I really liked the OST to that one, especially the arranged version of stage 2's theme. It was weird, but really really cool and memorable to me.

I hear ya. That OST rocked. This is the one thing that turned me off for LOS. The very generic soundtrack. Castlevania always had, in the past, stellar soundtracks. I especially like the stage 4 remake of dracula's curse village. And the boss music is just epic.

I absolutely love the intro to MoonFight in DXC. My favorite version of the few there are, and this particular one is especially rockin', though I get a HUGE Star Ocean: Till the End of Time vibe from it.
Also, the The Nest/Den remix that you unlock is... pretty bad, to say the least. The original referenced VK and BT, but it was enough to sound like its own track. The rearrangement though is just those two songs hamfisted together. It's almost as bad as the placement of Gabe's "What is a man" line in the LoS2 demo.
