Can you believe it's already almost here?! I've still got a tiny bit of shopping to do, but I'm almost done! How about all of you? How is your shopping and Christmas-ing coming?!
-

Yeah I can :) I've got two out of five people done already. Tomorrow I'll head downtown and see if I can't get the rest of it finished.
-
Yule!!! ;D

I'm more a Halloween guy but I think James Rolfe said it best. "Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, happy everybody! Happy Holidays, and if you have a problem with happy holidays then happy shut the fuck up." - AVGN (from the Winter Games review (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGrHqz3opgM#).) However and whatever you do to celebrate the Solstice season enjoy the time with the people closest to you, if you're lucky enough to be with them this year. And be awesome to each other everybody!
(Failing the above, at the bare minimum, make sure not to step on anyones face or get into any fistfights for some plastic piece of crap? Please?)

I still need to get several gifts
-
Crunch time. Hopefully i won't forget anyone. Hopefully I feel like shopping amongst the savage moms and grandmas. Hopefully I don't break the bank making people happy with material things. Hopefully....... :/

Christmas spirit came early in Jerusalem / Bethlehem as the city was engulfed by the heaviest snowstorm in decades that only ended yesterday. The storm completely paralyzed and blocked the city from the outside world, since the graders the city had were insufficient to deal with such a powerful and lengthy storm. Dozens of thousands were left without electricity for entire days. The snow even reached Egypt, which is, quite frankly, amazing.
You can see it as a sign of global warming, or... Apocalypse? Perhaps Both? :P
Israel : Snow blankets Jerusalem and Cairo as Kerry pushes Obama's Covenant of Peace (Dec 14, 2013) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXzFpLDXGMM#ws)
Hanukkah ended more than a week ago. Time for Christmas? Kwanzaa? Go on! Be merry! ;)

Global warming. The apocalypses is good for story-telling, but impractical for real life issues. We're going through a magnetic polar tilt at the moment so the weather is out of sorts. My home used to be a semi-arid climate, but because of the earth tilt we're getting more moisture and thus our once dry winters are getting more and more humidity, and lot's more snow.
-
Goodness gracious me, I almost forgot.

Here's hoping you don't need as much medication to get through the rest of this holiday season as Carrie Fischer did to get through filming that special!

Yeah. I know that too.
The weather this time of the year in my place used to be cool and dry, but now it feels like summer. Now I am worried about summer next year.

Looking forward to it - my 2 nieces from England and nephew and niece from here in Ireland are coming, should be great fun together. 11 People in the same house... may be a bit much, but we're all close. As long as it doesn't tip down all the time - some snow might be nice.
Also looking forward to seeing Time Of The Doctor at Christmas - last time we'll see Matt Smith for a bit, until the inevitable DR. Who special with the new guy.
-
11 people in one house?? Here's hoping it a big house or it's gonna be a crowded zoo in there!
I've gotten all my shopping done so I can rest easy till Christmas morning :D
-
With my wife's family it will reach 23 for at least a whole day...maybe two! Thankfully, it is a big house!
-
Merry Christmas errybody :D
-
What no 'Prunyuu'? :'( You should be purring underneath the Christmas tree :D
-
He must have drank too much eggnog and forgot how to "prunyuu" temporarily. ;D
Don't worry, he'll recover nicely.
-
So the nieces and nephew all coincided this afternoon. Consequently the house is UBERCHAOTIC. Great fun - will be even more fun clearing up later when they're tired and don't want to do anything you say :P.

I love walking, so I'm happy my loved ones got me shoes and boots. Mine were starting to wear out. :D
-
I was too caught up in yesterday's festivities to remember to post here, but it's always better late than never:
Merry Christmas! ;D
-
My sister got me a croche Mega Men X helmet ;D
She took some pictures of it with her iPhone. I would show you guys the images however my hotmail account is inaccessible due to MSNs recent security measures :P
-
Merry Christmas everyone.
I mostly got clothes, a new computer charger, and D&D Clue
-
Merry Christmas, Dungeonites! :D
I made off with a lot of video game related stuff, and unfortunately, nothing non-video game related. I got The 3rd Birthday, Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi, and Lord of Arcana for my PSP, as well as an 8GB Memory Stick Duo, and then I got both Dynasty Warriors 7: Empires and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn for PS3. A lot of my time shall now be gone. :)
-

Got the best present ever: Princess Mononoke on Blu-ray (imported).
-
And the festivities are done...
But wait, here comes the new year! hehehe.
What did I get for Christmas... a bunch of clothes, nail polish and cash!
-
Got 2 things for Christmas:
My bro:
radio for work
friend:
X-Men Vs Street Fighter for Saturn
gifts I bought myself:
$50 PSN card, went to Marvel Origins and the following PS1 classics: SF Alpha 1-3, Cyberbots, Darkstalkers 1 and 3
Sonic Advance 2 GBA
Maru's Mission GB
Vampire Darkstalkers Collection PS2 (yes the entire game series is MINNNNE, ALL MIIIINNNNE) I mean I just got into the series seriously after it's been out almost 20 years, and this release is 8 years old.
-
>Sonic Advance 2
Oh my, I hope you have the patience to retry the stages quite often if you're going for 100%.
I'm not underestimating you or anything, it's just that the game goes so blazingly fast at time that you're bound to miss things on your first few runs even if you already knew about them.

I've been wanting to get that for several years but every time I've looked it's been too expensive. Ahh well. My Christmas presents were mostly very practical and that's cool. Had a good holiday. And got gifted a boatload of neat games on Steam.

Snagged it for a hair under $30, free shipping too, pretty damned good condition too. One of the best purchases I've made in awhile.
As for Sonic Advance 2, don't really have much free time, so that will be played very sparingly. The fighting games I don't have to put a ton if time into, so those are good.

That's a good deal. Also Hsien-Ko/Lei-Lei is my favorite to. :)
-
Good thing about the Japanese release, Lei Lei instead of Hsein-ko (I don't like this name for her, doesn't seem ladylike of a name).
Bad thing about this collection, all win quotes in Japanese.

I've heard there's a cheat or something to switch between the English and Japanese versions of the games in that collection. You might also like to pick up the Darkstalkers Graphic File if you can find it for a decent price. (No WAY is it worth the $80 - $90 I'm seeing on amazon right now. I bought it for under $30 about 2 years ago.) It's a sort of quasi strategy guide art book thing that has all of the win quotes (and endings and special moves) for all of the characters in every game, though unfortunately they're in really small screenshots.
-
Too much for my wallet/budget sadly.
Small screenshots will finish me going blind.
No cheat I know of exists to put the collection into English, though there are lots of dipswitch stars to tinker with. Most seem aimed at added or removing arcade revisions bugs.
