If you live in the Midwest or Northeast US be prepared for devastating cold soon. Bring in your pets so they don't freeze to death or get frost bitten (I don't care how much fur they have) and I recommend running yourself spare water into any containers you may have and your bathtub in case your pipes freeze and/or you experience an extended power outage. On that note, it's a good idea to have lots of warm clothes and blankets, candles and flashlights handy. And of course non-electric heaters if you have access to them.

Yeah, gonna be cold but not TOO unusual for Minnesota. Got a cozy pad for my dog to sleep on in the garage. I'm gonna stay indoors as much as possible. Hopefully the power doesn't go out.

I live way in the Southern US, we are feeling the sting of this cold weather. Oddly haven't felt this cold down here in years, but was an every hear occurrence when I was a kid. Still waiting on the next ice storm, but that isn't coming and it's been about 6 years since the last one, was used to seeing them more commonly when I was a kid.
We won't be bitter cold, but temps under 20 degrees have been a major rarity in this part of the US the last 10+ years. I do remember one time as a kid school was canceled because the temperature had hit 9 degrees in the morning, and the schools heating went out.

Be strong Gringos, especially New Yorkers, I hear it's really bad in there. It's a damn nuclear winter. ???

And yet this cold is barely penetrating into South Florida. Current temp in North Miami is 79 degrees.

Current temp in North Miami is 79 degrees.
What's that mean in Celsius? The the internet search engine's being a bit of a dick when trying to find a conversion scale on this.

It means "really warm and sunny and likely humid as shit."
-
It means my kind of weather. ;D
