Title: PPSSPP, PSP Emulator
Post by: theplottwist on January 07, 2014, 07:35:06 PM
I dunno dudes. I searched the forum for "ppsspp" and all I found were sparse comments on it, and when it was buggy as hell, so yeah, I'm innocently posting about it here. The emulator is awesome, the compatibility is awesome.

Also... One hummingbird told me that a certain Castlevania is fully (albeit no extra games) playable...

What's the difference between the regular and gold versions?

from what I read, It's a faster version with savestates....?

but mostly as a donation item so the devs can work on it more

To my knowledge, the free version has EVERYTHING a respectable emulator can do, and this includes Save States.

This is from their site:

PPSSPP Gold is all the PSP emulation goodness of the free version:

-Faster emulation and more platforms than any other PSP emu
-Save states
-Enhanced high-resolution graphics with upscaled textures
-Turbo button for those slow-to-play RPGs

PPSSPP Gold also:

-makes you feel good.
-has a fancy golden icon you can show off to your friends.
-Most importantly, lets me (Henrik) spend more time working on the emulator.

Note: PPSSPP Gold is currently only available for Windows and Android. If you are running PPSSPP on another platform, you can simply purchase the Windows version, and then continue using the free version as the features are the same.

It basically means "Pay for my emulator if you think it's worth the effort, will you?"

Absolutely nothing. Gold is essentially the equivalent of a donation.

So SoTN and RoB are actually playable now? I'll have to take another look. Neither of them was working the last time I checked.
