Title: Rondo of Blood not working on emulator
Post by: machetespeghetti on February 06, 2014, 03:04:54 PM
I have little knowledge of disk based emulators and have been trying to run akumajo dracula x chi no rondo on turbo engine the turbo grafx emulator. I have only been able to come up with a .cue file and I don't know if i need to convert the file or if the whole process is impossible. The emulator read-me file says turbo engine only runs files in cue/bin/iso format. I tried changing the format by renaming but it created a WRAR file that cannot be open. Please help!

Only help I can give is to either download it on Wii or find the EXE file of the game.

I have the game on the wii but i'd like to have something i could put on a flashdrive and have a back up file. Maybe i'm just paranoid but I fear If something were to happen to the wii i might not be able to play it again. I will try to look for the .exe file thanks.

Thanks for all the replies I'll try the youtube video first then if that fails to work i'll buy a psp and dxc. I would have earlier but i found dxc graphics unapealing (just my opinion) But i might go dxc with that and unlock the original version.

Does anyone Know how to download the pc version and get around the trojan horse and other crap? I kept declining everything it threw at me but it tried to install anyway but avg stopped it.

If you're talking about the original PC EXE file (untranslated) was done by someone I have known for awhile, it should not have a trojan virus in it unless someone decided to inject one into it wherever you got it from.

Musta gotten it from a sketchy source.

If there are still free file uploaders, I could see about putting the .exe somewhere.

As of now IMO MEGA is one of the better free file hosting services.

You need a program which allows virtual drives, that's the only way the cue or bin files will appear as they actually are.

Once you've seen the actual files, copy them over to a CD and burn it through that pgm.

Open the emulator then insert the disc, let it spin and click load.

I think it's okay, shouldn't be a problem. I used to use Alcohol (the pgm not the substance ;) and it would let you mount about 8 virtual drives at a time. Long as it allows you to burn/ copy the files to somewhere. To avoid file corruption I would burn using that very pgm though.

Also the stage tracks need to be in order or you may play rondo and wonder what the hell you're listening to.

Good Luck!

What about that Turbo Duo website that has the actual games for download? Someone here brought it to the attention of the dungeon several years ago and it had Rondo for download. You didn't need an emulator nor a disk in order to work the game. All you had to do was install it on your machine and you were ready to play. I still have that saved one my PC too.

Don't download from sketchy sources. ;p

Rondo runs beautifully on the Ouya and with zero tinkering with PCE.emu, just gotta have the right system card alongside it. Thought I'd pass that along.

No trojans with this one. It works fine and my machine is still in one piece. Besides security essentials would have warned me about it already. I can understand your concerns and I've also tried to get Rondo to work through the emulator and disc thing as well. But after failing time and again I got fed up with that method and waited till the website was brought to my attention. Now I don't have to worry about wasting money on buying discs that will be bad or incomplete copies. Let alone an emulator (magic engine) that you shouldn't have to pay for in the first place. Besides I also got all the Valis games from this same site too. No viruses or trojans.

From what I saw and one of the other members of the Dungeon this wasn't a sketchy source otherwise (again) I would have been warned.
