Greetings.
So, I've been working on this project for a very long time now, but unfortunately my coder isn't going to work on the game anymore. This game has seen multiple transitions in regards to engines. From Game Maker, to MMF2, To Construct Classic, to Construct 2. I'm going to mark it as dead until further notice, which is a shame.
After Obreck left without a trace after releasing the final build to Super Vampire Killer, I took the project into my own hands and attempted to revive it. It's been on and off over the years but has never been consistent. My plan was to reveal this project to everyone with a demo of the first complete stage. To give you all an idea of what I wanted to do with this game, think of Streets of Rage Remake. I wanted to take all the best elements from Castlevania and implement it into a fan game. The gameplay itself would have been classic style, level to level Castlevania that we all know and love. Branching paths, multiple characters, hidden stages, hidden bosses, hidden characters, etc.
The characters planned were Trevor, Alucard, Richter, Albus, Shanoa, and Soma to begin with. I was going to try and see if someone could make a sprite sheet for Leon too. I was also planning to throw in some subtle elements of Dark Souls in this game as well, but that never came to fruition.
Anyway, I was to design most of the levels in the game and I had about 4 or 5 designed so far. Those of you that played Super Vampire Killer may remember the Aqua Cave stage with the Sir Grakul boss fight at the end. I remade that stage about 4 times in total for all the different engines we used..
I would absolutely love to keep working on this game, because I have so many ideas floating around in my head to make it awesome, and I just love designing levels. Unfortunately, I do not have the time anymore to learn how to code things in Construct 2. I tried a few tutorials here and there, but I won't be able to deal with all the trials and tribulations that come with learning a new engine. I know many of you don't like me due to my severe dislike of Lords of Shadow, but my love for Castlevania is(was) a great thing and this was my way of showing that love. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I'll be able to accomplish this goal, however.
Here are some screenshots:

If anyone has any interest in helping me revive this project, please let me know. if not, then this is it. I just wish I could have gotten something done for everyone.
I'm sorry.

Woah, man, those screenshots look really great. That's too bad your project seems dead/stagnant at this point...
If you can find someone to code/work on it, that'd be really great. Even if we are total opposites on the LoS saga, I'd love to help.
I known nothing about coding/game engines, but I'm a music guy. I'd even be happy to remix some classic tunes, or create new music, for your project, if it comes back to life. :)

lol. Kinda like my severe dislike for Majora's Mask, eh? keep in mind it's only the three day time gimmic that I hate. Everything else I can let slide. I'm not a fan of LoS either so it's no biggie.
I still have that one release of Super Vampirekiller and I play it from time to time. Can't remember what version it is but it has a total of five playable stages and the final stage was the Aqua Cave with Sir Grakul. That dude was even tougher then in SCV4. It's a shame to hear about it's stagnation cause I've been trying to keep tabs on this game since the last version I got my hands on. And that was a long time ago. But it was interesting to see how flexible the graphical implementations were. I had taken advantage of that and put in my own Belmont character (Christy Morris) to see how she would function. It was awesome! Although she doesn't map out quite the same as the Trevor sprite which was the one I replaced using her, but it was still an uplifting experience. Unfortunately that's as close as I'll ever get to game making as coding is beyond my capabilities. If someone out there could produce a CV-based game engine like the Zelda Classic game engine Then nothing could hold me back.

I would really like to get involved with something like this too, but I am absolutely swamped in development at the moment, I hope you find someone.

It's a shame the project died considering our grand scheme of things, plus the fact that we articulated so many levels already... especially after the hours we put into the resources. I was quite proud of my Lake Bridge, I just wonder what it'd have looked like on Neo's engine with all the background effects.
Do you by chance still have his SCIV "style" versions of Clocktower's Beat and Original Sin that he made? I lost them ages ago.
-
Yeah, Ralph. It sucks man. I still have all the assets and files from SVK. I had the coliseum, treasury, and graveyard stages all designed and ready to go too. I don't want to show those to anyone though lol. I have the clocktower's beat but I don't have the original sin. Catch me on AIM or Skype if you want it.
Thanks to all above for the kind words. I guess what I'm really hoping for is for someone to come forward that knows how to code in Construct 2, and to tell me they will help complete this game.
Edit: Come to think of it Ralph, stage one was completed based off your designs all those years ago.

My friend and I can make sprites but thats all and we are not good, and about Leon remember that vedora, it was Vedora rigth? i dotn remember if it was him, he made sprites of leon, you can ask to him if you can use his sprites.
If you want to see the sprites that made my friend and I you can go to our DeviantArt: http://drameloch.deviantart.com/ (http://drameloch.deviantart.com/)
The project looks so good, i hope you find someone that can help you

Those are pretty good. I really like the Hector sprite you have there. I wanted to make him and Isaac playable characters at one point too. Unfortunately, things are still looking grim since I still don't have anyone to code for me.
-
Focusing on coding the game before implementing 128 characters would be the key IMO.

Here's a walkthrough of the first stage

I remember that chair in the cathedral was going to have invisible platforms leading to it with some easter egg happening when you interacted with it.
-
To this date I've never seen Castlevania materialize out of nothing during a game play-through. It kinda adds more depth to it too. Nice touch Rugal.
-
This is a pretty neat project with some awesome ideas. I wish I had the time to help with it.
-
That game looks very nice.
-
Why thanks.
No one wants to code this game. I've even offered money to people, but no one comes through.. Quite sad :(

Yes...the castle appearing like that was awesome! I hope you find some help! I'd offer...but I don't have any kind of useful knowledge here. :-/

Looks like things aren't completely dead as of yet. May have found some needed help.
But now I ask: Does anyone have access to a Trevor Belmont sprite sheet complete with whip, and walking up and down stairs animation? Also, a death animation too.

Hey man, what engine is your game programmed in? Is it gmk 8?
