Title: Steamworld Dig - anybody played it?
Post by: Ratty on February 19, 2014, 12:10:28 PM
My girlfriend bought me this game when it was on steam sale a few days ago and so far I'm really impressed with it

SteamWorld Dig - Release Trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMGYQ40DzsU#ws)

It's a bit like a Metroidvania, only you dig the tunnels yourself. It's a simple game but very addictive and fun. Anyone else here give it a try?

Looks neat. Funny that it's "a first of it's kind game" when it obviously builds on Dig Dug.

It is. And yeah I'd almost call it a MetDugVania. One of the steam achievements (crush 10 enemies under falling rocks) is named "Dig Dug Skills"

They should have one for avoiding falling rocks and call it "Boulder Dashing".
