I won't spoil it, but this may spoil your appetite...

Yeah that does suck. I'm really surprised they're doing that. I'm sure it won't be for a whole lot of things and I'm sure the things it is used for will be understandable. I doubt Nintendo will be Nazi's about it, it does go against what they stated about free online, so I don't think they'll go crazy with it.
A shame, really

Wow. WTF is Nintendo doing?
I've lost even more faith on them. Especially for their shitty plans of online gaming.
Hope this doesn't mean charging for playing multiplayer games online.
I hope Nintendo doesn't make its online services into two like Xbox Live Silver and Gold.
jeeeeez.. >:(

this just simply...sucks :-\

2 things better happen with this:
1) This better not effect past titles. (i doubt it will but ill keep the suspicion out there)
2) This better be for some MMO in the future. With nintendo's online record, nothing should be charged.
Seriously, if its not the second point i cant see any wii title getting charged for. The only game i know of coming in the future that may use this is Mario Kart. Although the DS has a higher probability to get tagged with this, i don't know of any game coming out that will. all of nintendo's wi-fi games have already come out.

it'll probably be like a service that allows for more adult connections liek voice and vedio chat and maybe even and actual gamertag type deal rather than those friend code things.

Well, Animal Crossing for the Wii is supposed to be an MMO so it wouldn't surprise me if thats what its for. And also, I think Downloadable content should start happening, I wouldn't mind paying for new characters in Smash Bros.
