I'm really curious to know. Does anybody know who came up with the name?
As it's not a direct translation of the original Japanese title "Akumajo Dracula", was it a Konami employe From the US? Europe? Somebody in Konami Japan?
And how do we know if Akumajo Dracula came first? Maybe they had Castlevania in mind first, and then came up with Akumajo Dracula to fit with the Japanese language.
And what is Castlevania anyway? Is it just Castle + Translyvania, or is there more to it?
-
I always assumed "Castlevania" was the name of the castle itself. SotN's intro refers to it as such.
-
I don't think anyone outside Konami really knows, though I'd be happy to be proven wrong on that one. At the time not only were game credits poorly kept, but in many cases they were purposefully obfuscated. As I understand this happened for several reasons. One was that game companies in Japan didn't want other companies to poach all their talent, so they forbade development teams from putting their actual names in the credits, or so I've heard. It would explain the prominence of nicknames and such in the credits sequences for many old Japanese games. Such as the credits for Castlevania 1 being made up of puns on famous horror movie actors. Another reason is that working in games wasn't very prestigious, and some Japanese devs might have even been ashamed of it back then. Plus just the sad fact that corporations usually like to keep any ideas of creator credit and ownership to a minimum.
If I had to guess though, I'd say the name Castlevania probably came from someone on a localization team or a marketer. As for which came first well, the MSX game "Vampire Killer" (just called "Akumajo Dracula" in Japan as well iirc, though it was a very different game with many of the same art assets) was released in Europe in the same year that "Castlevania" was released in the west, though last I heard there was some disagreement about which was released first. Meanwhile the "Akumajo Dracula" arcade game that came two years later was released in the west as "Haunted Castle". So I think it's safe to assume you had several different English language localization/marketing teams coming in after the fact, and not really talking to one another.

Yeah that's got integrated into series canon to some extent even if it wasn't the original intention I think. And it makes sense when translating text from Japanese to English since Akumajo Dracula means "Devil's Castle Dracula" or "Demon Castle Dracula". I seem to recall IGA tried to have some of the less Dracula-centric handheld games branded as "Castlevania" in Japan for this reason, and some of the hardcore Japanese fans gave him hell for it.

I thought it was just a clever play on words

I thought it came from vania meaning woods so castlevania is castle in/of the woods
-
"Castlevania 3: Curse of Darkness"? lol nice one
Anyway I guess we will never know who came up with the name.
Also, the "creator" of Castlevania can be a different person from the guy who came up with the name, hmmm
-

Both of these sound plausible, but maybe all it was just a play on words. It might have sounded strange back in the day but now it's a infamous franchise title.
-
Might be something interesting for an enterprising journalist to try to track down but I somehow doubt we'll ever know who came up with it.
-
If i posted something here it would probably get shit bombed or deleted. But i can answer some of these questions to some extent.

Why do you think you would be shitbombed or deleted? Also how did you come by this information?
-
Trans Fishers maybe?
-
I don't know who came up with the name, but I'll assume that it was someone in the west (likely on the localization team). Considering that most of the religious stuff was being played down during the 90s, I guess someone didn't like the Japanese name nor did they like the English translation of the name (Devil's/Demon Castle Dracula). Might have kept people from buying the game because of the title. So, they probably thought: the takes place in a castle. the castle is in Transylvania. How about Castlevania?
-
Whoever it was deserves heaps of oral pleasure, because they came up with a name that while ridiculously cheesy is also beyond cool and not something to be laughed at. That's a hard thing to do.
-
transylvania has been associated with dracula an vampyre and castles
the name literally wrote itself, as they say

This is what I've always thought was the obvious reason a name change happened. Keep in mind, when Castlevania first appeared on the NES in the 1980s, not only was the name changed, but the Holy Water was officially referred to in the US manual as a "Fire Bomb," and the Cross sub-weapon was only called a "Boomerang" to keep out any religious connotations. Have no idea who the individual was in the company that came up with "Castlevania" though. But hey, it's a catchy sounding name for Drac's castle, and it worked.
-
I assumed the name came from Castle and Transylvania being merged. In English it's catchier than Haunted Castle or Demon Castle Dracula, it works, who am I to stop a good thing 8)
-
Definitely not I 8)

Quote from IGA:
"The name Akumajyou Dracula is very well known. However, when we developed for overseas, we decided to make the title consistent. At that time, we took "castle" and "Transylvania" and combined them to make a new word. It was a name that we thought the overseas would accept rather well. In addition, the word "Dracula" limits the final boss to Dracula. "

These guys are full of it, K.K. Their names may be on the product, but they had nothing to do with the concept. They were given the script for this game by a government think tank in the west and told to produce it. That was the price Japan and Nintendo had to pay in order to share in the western market. Also what happens when you lose a war to a super power... The same is the case with the legend of zelda and MANY other titles. They developed the name Castlevania first. The Japanese title is the generic version ;) they had to release it in Japan first in order to keep up the illusion that this was all done in Japan. Clearly it was not. And the anime style art and more Japanese looking character in Rondo of blood proves that. (Not released in the USA)
Don't believe me? The same is true of the legend of zelda guys . Again, the Japanese version was given the generic sounding name. Why? Because the game was developed for the west, by the west. Japan was forced to go along with it. The name of the legend of zelda in Japan? The hyrule fantasy.. :/ yeah i know... great name, lol. If the developer was channeling the legend of f Scott fitzgeralds wife zelda, like he said, why not give the game the same name in Japan? Yep.. It's true. Also, zelda Fitzgerald was a notorious whore and what the ruling elite envision the present day modern woman to be. She was a template for "progress" in women's rights :/ Making zelda a proper princess in the game was done for ironic effect.
I make up nothing. I just tell the truth so people can post derp shit and make tinfoil hat references. Don't ask me how i know this stuff. I will not list any names. I don't wish to get anybody in trouble. But aside from knowing it myself (how i knew to bring it up with certain people) i have had very reliable and connected individuals varify that these are facts. (It's tied into mockingbird) But almost every video you have ever seen where people identified 'certain symbolism' cough, COUGH, was 100% true and in most cases.. they didn't even see all of it. Only the parts they are educated enough about are the articles that are brought to light.

Oh cool. That implies that it was the Japanese team rather than a localization team. Though if true it means they decided (or were not allowed) to stay consistent in the name for the MSX and Arcade variants.

Uhhhh...
....
What possible motivation would a "western think tank" (and the American government, apparently) have in enriching Japanese video game companies? Yes, Castlevania and Zelda are both heavily influenced by western fantasy media, but such media was very popular in Japan at the time. And western style fantasy remains more or less popular worldwide. Wouldn't it have been simpler to just, you know, invest in American video game companies? Most of which would have been in piss poor shape post 1983 crash and could have been bought relatively easily and inexpensively?
That's like saying Kill Bill and every shitty Steven Seagal movie was written and financed by secret Chinese and/or Japanese groups who wanted to keep martial arts popular in America for reasons.

Man, don't even try to talk sense into conspiracy theorists. No matter what you say, they will always fall back on "that's what they WANT you to think." Just smile and nod...
-
I won't deride conspiracy theorists because I wholeheartedly support alternative media. However, excuse me for pointing this out, our conspiratorial member, but your allegations have no context whatsoever in the propagation of some kind of mass consciousness shift via naming of video games... When Castlevania and Zelda came out, gaming as we know it was in its infancy, and very few people actually played games or owned consoles. It's not like today where millions are gaming and connecting online every day. Furthermore Miyamoto admitted to naming Zelda after Zelda Fitzgerald. Even if she is all those things, the knowledge isn't esoteric because it's publicly known. I think being more articulate with why you believe there's such importance to cover up this information may help, but at this point my friend, be careful as you're discrediting your own ideas.

From the movie young Frankenstein 1974. This pic proves nothing. Just something that some people may not have known.
I could post links to all the information you would ever need that proves what i said is true, but it would take days and i am not patient enough to break through the mind control, while educating and fighting over every single point along the way.
Just keep playing your video games guys..

So your not against alternative media, just everything that they report on a daily basis. You think your being sneaky. Everybody that reads your post can see that your just calling me dumb. You can be as articulate as you wish, but for educated people its translated the same way. Yes i am aware that Miyamoto admits naming after Zelda Fitzgerald. How do you think i knew to mention that?!?! Your not very smart and you don't comprehend what you read. Let me slow things down so you can keep up. Miyamoto was telling a lie. It was not his idea, not his story. Get it?? There is a difference between opinions and facts. Opinions belong to the uneducated. Facts belong to those who have done research. Tossing around a few big words does not impress anybody that's not a brainwashed slave. You made no point. You said said i was wrong because.... You said so, and used some big words, lmao!!

Without Morning star's posts ( ;D ):
Thanks for the link which seems to make it clear that Castlevania comes from Konami Japan. It was indeed just Transylvania + Castle. And regarding the censorship thing, it's funny that Vampire Killer made it to Europe, although that was obviously not on Nintendo's consoles. I wonder if they used Vampire Killer because they hadn't come up with the name yet or they didn't want to mix up the NES/GB games with the MSX port, or maybe just because a different team at Konami worked on it. Now that I think of it, Vampire Killer would have suited the series pretty good too. Vampire Killer 2: Simon's Quest. Or Vampire Killer: Symphony of the Night.
Now with Morning star's posts ( 8) ):
No need to whine that people are going to laugh at you or something like this. You are free to give us your information/point of view, or to keep it to yourself. Thanks for sharing by the way. But as zangetsu said, it seems hard to believe that government(s)/lobbies and other think tanks had full power over and lots of interest in video games in the 80s - really? I mean are you trying to say that the "hidden" Hollywood system can also be applied to the video gaming entertainment industry? I could believe it for NOW, given the importance, budgets involved, and people who play them (young, old, women, basically everybody). Now video games mean something, but back then? Wasn't it something very new, unknown to the masses, something like collecting baseball cards?
You seem to hint at brainwashing, mind control and programming slaves, and you mention Zelda as a Monarch mind-controlled presidential sex slave or something along those lines, right? I have a hard time connecting this to the localisation of a (then) unknown video game in the USA/Europe.
And I don't follow you with the John Morris screenshot... apart for the fact that it's the name of the guy in Bloodlines/New Generation/Vampire Killer (lots of names for the same game lol)... and that it's a classic horror movie...? *thoughtful* but it's pretty interesting for sure, and if you could share more...
-
Morning Star, nobody is calling you dumb or stupid. There's a big difference between this and ideas being discredited. Then again an educated person in the true sense would realise this. The fact you took that statement so personally speaks volumes about you, pardon me for saying but truly educated people do not lose themselves in ego amongst debating ideas, because those people are collected and succinct in the way they articulate themselves.
I'm actually interested in your ideas, but not your holier than thou attitude which is basically saying "hey everyone I've got this secret, but I'm the only one who's smart enough to know"
Knowing x information does not put x person above other people, this is egotistical..
Please, at least if you make allegations then have the resources to back them up.
-
Let's all drop name calling and other insults please. We're all here to enjoy ourselves and celebrate this series we love. So I don't want to warn anyone or be forced to lock the thread.

I dont think i am better than anybody. Really. If it reads that way, i am sorry for that. Really. I just get a little wound up. This is an easy topic to talk about as long as your making fun of it, but when you have the facts and try to get people to listen.. It gets very frustrating.
About a comment you made. I don't know these things because i am (or think i am) smarter than other people. I know this stuff because i got very sick and had a lot of time on my hands for many years. First a DVT blood clot and Pancreatitis a few years after that. The lack of a life gives you time to learn things that other people just don't have time for. Jobs and social interaction really get in the way and restrict this kind of independent research for most people.
However, my misfortune can become the gain of others. I offer this information to people for free. I actually know enough about all this to write a book. I don't care if people never mention my name again. This isn't for cred of any kind. I want people to know this information that i spent the last five years researching. It's very detailed, almost all of it is documented and it's precise. This is not like the beliefs of every confused kid that gets on YouTube and posts a video on spirituality or some crap like that, lol. These are hard facts based in reality.
Super hard, set in stone proof is very hard to come up with at a moments notice. A lot of the documentation and leaked info gets removed within weeks of it being posted. Although the faces, names, dates and times do tend to vanish. The names of operations, links between events and dates tend to remain easily found. Certain people and their affiliations with specific groups also play a central role in exposing the truth.
You want proof.. Let me go back through some resources and see if I can find enough to link things together. I will see what i can still find again. It's hard to remember names, dates, and affiliations, both political and social for every significant figure and event event that's taken place between now and the late seventeen hundreds. You end up knowing much, but not being able to remember enough to prove it. Like i said, i wasn't looking to write a book. Plenty of people have already done that.

It will take time to dig up actual hard proof. I don't know how much I can still find. Some of this was word of mouth from people that were close to high ranking operations. But in the meantime I can offer people this information to look at.
Did you know Bram Stoker was an illuminati member? To be specific, he was a member of the hermetic order of the golden dawn. The theological group that is responsible for the modern incarnation of the illuminati religion. The Thule society was a direct offshoot of this group. Helena Blavatsky founding member and member of the golden dawn was responsible (through this religion) for producing the rough draft that would become Nazi doctrine. Gerald Gardner is responsible for the rebirth of the modern neopaganism movement. It's called Wicca. Many of his rituals were written by Aleister Crowley. Aleister Crowley, a documented satanist , tutored L Ron Hubbard. Hubbard founded the church of Scientology. That leads us to operation Mockingird and control of ALL media sources for use as propaganda tools and brainwashing systems. This includes the upcoming video game industry. Scientology is part of the system put in place to control the celebrities. Also developers and producers etc.. Anybody with power, influence or wealth. Even pro athletes. If you agree to the terms and try to back out, you end up dead like Michael Jackson and countless other victims.
I could go on, but this should be enough for the people who don't know yet.
New video game.. http://youtu.be/VGEEZvpmXwk (http://youtu.be/VGEEZvpmXwk)

This thread has turned gleefully nutty. I like it.

Morningstar, this is why I say never skimp on resources, and I know what you've shared is vbarely skimming the surface of what lies underneath. Touching on the subject matter that it does I tend to notice much esoteric symbology in games also, particularly with the likes of Zelda and Castlevania. Thank you for sharing this info.
It's really unfortunate you were ill, but I'm sure you don't regret learning what you have.
It may surprise you though most of the info you've shared I have read in some form before. When David Icke came through my town I sat through his seminar for 12 hours, I'm not saying I believe all the info from all the theorists I read/listen to. However, it saddens me that the commercial media is what most of the populous abides by as their gospel. At the same time all information has its upside and it's downside (in some cases)
I didn't know Stoker was, but I certainly suspected he had esoteric knowledge, the myth of the vampire has long been a controversy in the eyes of most, there was no clear impetus of when/where the myth was born.
I've heard theories about the true origins of Alice in Wonderland and seen/heard of the esoteric info in Disney cartoons, Video games obviously could potentially pick up on various influences but I've never heard any conspiratorial info in the origin of CV until now. If you have sources which you don't wish to publish on the forum, please PM me if you have the time etc.

I think i may have misinterpreted one of your previous posts. We seem to have reached a degree of understanding now. Your right, i don't regret knowing what i learned at all. About the mainstream media... I am just trying to figure out what the record is for how long you can talk about a missing plane.
On to the serious stuff.
Yeah.. David Icke. Not sure what to think of that guy. It's possible that he is an agent working for British intellegence. He could just be a good guy that went a little off the deep end though.
This is the reason I am suspicious of these 'higher levels of consciousness' pushers. You ever notice how certain people talk about the dimensions, aliens, reptilians, etc and so on? Atlantis... I have a good reason to believe that these people are just another system of control. Like the many layers of control depicted in the matrix.
The reason i say that, is that these beliefs tie into the belief in reincarnation, Christ consciousness, real magic, etc and so on. Blatant paganism. Big surprise, all these beliefs perfectly represent the illuminati religion. Also, the church of Scientology. And a lot of people would think at this point, yeah, that's why it all makes sense. Now we have the real story. Let me be on record as saying that i don't think so.
I think the reason these revelations of transdimensional "ancient wisdom" are being exposed is because so many people now know that the illuminati is real. Everybody is aware of how they are coming out. TV, music, television, games.. They want us to know. Hell, they had to do something. It may have even been part of the plan to start with. And in being given this gift of the "real wisdom" lol, they think we will accept a new reality. Like the ancient alien stuff that's overtaken the history channel. They even call the reptilian aliens from mars the luciferians. Ironic since they worship satan and always have. Trying to get people to embrace the Masonic duality. Like the angel and demon wings that are now an iconic Castlevabia symbol..
I think it's an angle they are working. They are exposed. A master manipulator will use even a defeat to their advantage if they can. If they can get people to accept a new religious reality along with the knowledge that they exist.. They are now one step closer to total control. A lot of people think the world government is already established and all this crap on TV is just political theatre to mantain the illusion of a seperate and independent world while they implement more measures of control and condition is to accept this...
Neopaganism and Wicca tied into the ancient eastern religions. This is the start of one world religion.
Check this shit out. This is what they are trying to get people to believe. Found it on YouTube. It's directed at children.. It was "recommended for viewing" lol. Riht on the YouTube homepage a few days ago. Right under the Katy perry dark horse videos :/ It has cartoon characters and everything. The little man even says aboot like the Canadians on South Park :/
http://youtu.be/1iOGjCDuKGU (http://youtu.be/1iOGjCDuKGU)
For my money this is the ultimate form of manipulative propaganda. "Exposing the illuminati"? Looks to me like they are selling their religion to children. If they get people to accept that they are aliens, they have done two things. Killed God and made people accept that they are a superior race of beings. They are not. Just a bunch of über rich dickheads that want to complete the dreams of the third reich.

I may be new to these boards, but I have been a CV nerd since 1995. I joined these boards to talk to fellow CV fans about CV. I would like to point out a couple of reasons why I find this topic of conspiracy appearing here distasteful and to a degree, offensive.
1.) As a CV fan, and by extension, a fan of the men and women who have worked hard on this series over the years, I find it insulting to insinuate that these people who I admire and respect are being labeled as lying, underhanded slaves to some vaguely defined shadow system that seeks to enslave the world.
2.) I find Morning Star's phrasing when referring to Zelda as a "whore" and his remarks about the Golden Dawn and Aleister Crowley, in the context he is putting them in, to be also highly offensive. My personal spiritual/religious beliefs are not important, as this site is about CV, not religious bickering, but I do take offense at the insinuation that there is something inherently wrong with a person's choice of sexual lifestyle (whores) and also the insinuation that Crowley and other Golden Dawn members are part of a sinister, murdering global cult. There is no part of signing up to this site that makes someone post their religious views, so you never know how offensive some of that nonsense may be to someone on here.
3.) I was under the impression this is a page to discuss CV from a fan perspective, not to theorize about the Illuminati.
-
I think i may have misinterpreted one of your previous posts. We seem to have reached a degree of understanding now. Your right, i don't regret knowing what i learned at all.
I think the harsh truth is more favourable than a beautiful lie. At least you can find truth/ true happiness/ contentment even in a reality comprised of the former.
About the mainstream media... I am just trying to figure out what the record is for how long you can talk about a missing plane.
Just another excuse to boost News ratings and increase security imo.
Why aren't they covering older stories like certain states in the US having 3d nude body imaging (where security can actually take that image data home with them) and/or heavy patdowns to the point where the security guards are touching women and children in their private parts? I'm not sure if it's still going on but it was a big thing a couple of years ago, I'd seen some footage and it made me sick. These Security personnel weren't even properly checked for criminal records.. They could have been child molesters or rapists and the like... Seriously makes me feel like I'm set on fire
On to the serious stuff.
Yeah.. David Icke. Not sure what to think of that guy. It's possible that he is an agent working for British intellegence. He could just be a good guy that went a little off the deep end though.
Could be either, having said this regardless of what he is he does mention a lot of interesting concepts like Problem-Reaction-Solution.
Even if he is a nominated martyr, he was still helping people in the earlier days when nobody was waking up.
He has ties to Credo Mutwa which I'd be very surprised if he was a wolf in sheep's clothing, that and he's close to the end of his life (unless he's deceased, I've been out of the loop for a while)
Icke could have been a Sports Commentator for the rest of his life, and he was ridiculed for many years of his younger life - so if he isn't full of shit, props to him. (Mutwa was also sodomised and bad shit happened to his family, so it goes)
Well to be fair, I've read a couple of books on this, one was Icke's "Infinite Love is the only truth, Everything else is Illusion" and he himself did mention that dimensions, Atlanteans, history, Aliens etc is all part of the matrix.
Thing is, a matrix may be just that, but what's real to myself is the Love for others. In the end, what's real and true to the individual is what truly matters imo. Belief creates much of our own reality, not saying all of it, but a damn good portion.
I take all the higher dimensional jargon as personal anecdotes. I've had some spiritual experiences in both waking and dreaming life, and I can say that some of it feels pure, natural good, some of it feels rubbish or scarey, some is just different to what's perceived as normal reality. What I don't believe is there's a set template that regulates all of this. Wilcock with his talk of astral projection just screams bs to me. I know one or two people who have had similar experiences like him, but the way he describes it just sounds like a fictional story. He never mentions the negative effects or experiences either. All reactions have a reaction, for every instance/ experience and its connotation (negative, positive or neutral) there must be a counterpart.
Like the angel and demon wings that are now an iconic Castlevabia symbol...
They want people to know, they've been grooming people into acceptance of this imo.. Doing it too quickly would have caused the masses to revolt. At this point it wouldn't make a difference what people know/ don't know. Even if everyone knew they existed, they would let it slip by the wayside because it would just be "another media thing". I don't even think people would care unless their government started physically taking things from them, even taking civil liberties away slowly over time doesn't seem to phase people. The masses don't realise that if everyone banded together, the governments, the banking systems, everyone is in power and control of their own destiny... The power of the pyramid is in its base/ cornerstone without it, the rest crumbles.
The way I see it is like this, if every 500th can of coke was poisoned, sure some people would stop drinking it, but others would continue and do so full well knowing they could die. It's so iconic people would rather be a part of the image of pop culture than not be. People would die for their media gods; icons, and the nostalgias and ideologies they carry. At the same time, other people are wise and move above that level.
Castlevania, well let's say being tied to the Dracula Mythos was always bound to have esoteric symbolism. I think in context it is part of the game's charm, the Castle itself and its master are by Nature esoteric, occult, alchemical, what have you. There are probably a couple of instances where I've seen something out of the ordinary, but it's more the mythos that intrigues me.
Neopaganism and Wicca tied into the ancient eastern religions. This is the start of one world religion.
Maybe one religion, I tend to think Science is the main religion and has been for a while now. If it's not one side it's the other, just like politics. (Politics and religion are actually closer than people would tend to believe, imo)
The show V for example, was getting people to accept the presence of alien life integrated into Earth, long ago. The rehashed series re-iterated this.
I don't really see how this necessarily is "killing god" as such, it's more like knowing there are possibly forces in this universe that a human's god could not even prepare them for. Does this place them above god? not necessarily. I haven't read the bible extensively enough but I'm sure I've read passages in the past which describe things like "a Chariot of fire" that could be construed as a modern day UFO. I'm sure people have found other references to conspiracy and such, but it really depends on whether religion prior to the emergence of the NWO has ever prepared people for the likes of these situations, or will people simply police themselves into selectively seeing what they want to see, reading what they want to learn, and absorbing what they want to retain.
Any being/ entity which has to manipulate another through a series of convoluted twists for generations in order for them to feel/act/be a certain way, is cunning, but not clever. This reality is filled with infinite possibility and even if the chance people will wake up and find their truth - effectively destroying the system - is 1 in infinity, it will happen. Eventually, it's simply an odds game, but the odds are inevitable.
@ KK re: your 3rd point. I don't see why we can't do both.
Vampires have long been a topic of conspiracy, CV's main antagonist is Dracula. The games contain esoteric material, which imo isn't a bad thing.. There's some kind of correlation here even if minimal at best. Stoker was a supposed member of the Occult according to Morning Star, which is at least worth mentioning. In fairness, myself and others asked for the info Morning Star had to be shared, even if it was a brief window into what Morning Star was discussing.
It's unfortunate that you feel offended, but nobody is outright mentioning/deriding a particular religion here, unless you're a Satanist or you follow Crowley, hence I doubt it affects people here (though I may be mistaken)

Vampires may have become a topic of "conspiracy" in certain circles, but vampires have long been a part of folklore, myth, and storytelling, and that is how it was always used in CV. And to put it bluntly, I am a Thelemic Satanist, and have been for over a decade, just as is my wife, and we have a family. So yes, Aleister Crowley is an important part of my life. It has nothing to do with this site nor my interest in CV, but if that's what I have to point out to make it clear I find this garbage offensive, then I might as well put that out there right now. People think they can say all sorts of slander about Crowley and the occult, and never think of the fact that it is a meaningful part of some people's lives. I may have certain viewpoints that would be highly offensive to the Christians and others on this board, but I would never think of using a post about a CV topic as a springboard to promote my personal views and bash Jesus on this forum. This is a forum for CV fan discussion.

KK, I can only speak for myself, so apologies if I personally offended yourself via previous posts. Let me be clear that I don't consider the occult to automatically equate to evil or negativity. Anyways I should have considered that people of all walks are on this forum.

I don't mind out-of-topic but guys do a new thread ;D
Or at least tell us how all of this is related to "Castlevania".
As I said I have no problems seeing the occult hand behind most of the new-gen games, in terms of violence, sex, general obscenity and pushing all sorts of agendas and all. But it seems hard this was being done on 8 bit games? Except for the manual and box where you could give some graphic/text details... the games were ugly, what harm could you possibly do?
This is one of the reasons why I tend to avoid new gen games too, because old games are ugly, basic, simple. It seems to me there is no space for between-the-lines shit and hidden messages. Or at least not as much as new gen games.
So hey huhh, yeah nevermind.

I'm locking this thread because the main question seems to be answered already, and whatever is being discussed now is only marginally related. Although this is not stated in the rules anywhere, I don't think debating religious beliefs/world views or politics here is not a good idea, as they tend to turn personal.
