Just thought I'd toss out the subject of what you'd think about a Castlevania game made for Virtual Reality headset like Morpheus on the PS4.
One of my greatest requirements for a Castlevania game is the amount of immersion that you get in it. I was very pleased with the level immersion you got in Lords of Shadow Mirror of Fate in 3D, and the fact you could control the camera and explore a more open world in Lords of Shadow 2. I guess the next step would be a Virtual Reality game. You'd probably end up sacrificing traditional gameplay for more immersion. But if I were to play a virtual reality monster hunting game, I'd just rather it be a Castlevania game given the choice. I'd like to walk down those halls. Considering they've already made a first person rail shooter, there's some precedent for a game like this.
Anyways, I'm super psyched about Project Morpheus. Gonna get the PS4 for it.

I love this idea. May as well try something, right? At least this idea has the potential to be something special.

Port Castlevania Arcade to it. Instant win.
-
That would be good and exciting for people without digital motion sickness.
As for me, I'm out of the picture.

This ^. I´m still waiting for a port of that game.
As for a VR Castlevania, I think is possible. In the first years of the franchise, I wouldn´t imagine a fighting game or a puzzle game, so nothing is impossible for a Castlevania game 8)...

PC... Skyrim... Modded... Oculus Rift...
Thats about as close as your likely to ever get. Im willin to bet that 90% of the games that make it to the ps4 vr will be entirely IPs

I think this is one of the reasons I feel VR is a fad and will always remain a fad. That and, it can't be good for your eyes to have a screen THAT close to them. Remember when we were children, our parents used to say, "Don't sit too close to the television, you'll strain your eyes!". Not kidding, I used to always sit close to the tv and my eyes are shit. Imagine wearing a tv to your head? It's a bunch of eye problems waiting to happen. My eyes are throbbing just thinking about it!

This ^ is a good point.
I remember that one main reason for the failure of the Nintendo Virtual Boy was the headache that gave to the persons who test it (sort of). One remedy I believe, if its posible a VR CV game, would be a short-length game, that not compromise the eyes health with its continuous use.

I just don't think first person would really suit Castlevania.

No. Just, no.

Till they find a good way to incorporate Third person games with the rift, noooope.
Didn't Cox tweeted a pic of him wearing the rift with Los2 once? I wonder whatever happened of that.

At this point, I'm thinking a Wii U eShop port would be really nice. You have a machine that I'm sure handles the graphics, and the MotionPlus for better accuracy. The PlayStation Move proved itself to be absolute garbage for on-rail shooters (and everything else), being bested by the Wii's standard remote for accuracy.

Wasn't Castlevania: The Arcade first person, though?

akumajo dracula the arcade was just a weird expiriment that literally came outta nowhere & was unexpected, however konami never really gave it a chance outside of Japan (although i do recall a few posts online here n there saying that they seen a unit at their local arcade/Dave n Busters/gaming locale, but those are few & far between)
the best we could do is start a campaign asking for konami to port it (shoulda been started a long time ago honestly) otherwise we just gotta enjoy it thru videos on youtube

Strangely of all the experiments and side-games (Judgment, HD, Pachislot, Arcade), this is the only one we don't get.
The only one that looked worthwhile.
>:O
Wii U port or I bomb Konami. Makin' my demands. OPEWRATION CASHLEVANIA THE ARCAID

I had a dream I was playing Simon's Quest once and it was first person. It seemed cool, but I seriously doubt it could work :(
