A challenge for the writers here: come up with an oath and/or family motto for the Belmont clan.
Fiction's rife with famous ones from Green Lantern ("In brightest day, in blackest night," you know the rest), to the Phantom ("I swear to devote my life to the destruction of piracy, greed, cruelty, and injustice. My sons and their sons shall follow me."), to even Assassin's Creed (abbreviated as "Nothing is true, everything is permitted."). A good oath defines what the heroes are all about, and I'm guessing a family as prominent as the Belmonts would and should have one of their own. So have at it.
Hard Mode: No, "I'm a Belmont. That's my job." Or anything Leon said involving hunting/killing the night. ;)
EDIT: Sorry, this should be in Fan Stuff.

Under the full moon
When the wolves howl
We are on the hunt
Whip on lookout
No evil shall stand in our way
For our power will befall our prey
Count Dracula be prepared
For our clan will be restless
Until he is silenced breathless
Inside his cursed coffin
His heart stopping
His castle crumbling
And the sunrise shinning!
Lame, I know.

I was reading Game of Thrones the other day and thought it would be perfect if there was a House Belmont in the mix. Fun fact: one of the words in Valyrian, belmon means "chain", a reference to Castlevania.
I imagine their motto would probably be something short like, "Don't Wait Until Night." After all, the night is dark and full of terrors.
-
I just cant help writing this. So short and simple.
Die monster!
But i think they must have a creed taken from a bible verse.
-
"I'm a Belmont. That's my job."
I think this works just fine. It's straight to the point and very blunt. And it should serve as a message to all other future CV developers that only a Belmont can kill Dracula cause it's their job.

We are the descendants of the ancient assassin who first sent the pernicious dragon to hell.
Cursed be our blood, but mighty be our fist.
It is our lot to strike down the perfidious Draconist should he rise again.
We are the weapons of God, and man's last defense. We are the Belmonts.

Not so. Remember the end credits version of DMC4's The Time Has Come? I can see something like this being used for CV. 8)

I don't read GOT but that's pretty cool, intentional or not.
And considering I love the actual DWUN song, I can't believe I never thought of the title as a motto. Good one. :D

OH U. :) Something along the lines of Ezekiel 25:17, maybe? Heh.

If any, that's probably Richter's personal creed. And agreed; they really went haywire with the number of other people who could kill Drac.

...I am so digging the second and fourth lines. No lie.

"Tis I! Never fear, cuz the Belmont's are here, to destroy evil monsters and all they hold dear!"

"We are Dusk's holy blade that vanquishes the creatures of eternal night"
that's all I can think of, greatly inspired by OoE

One of the writers for the show revealed that it is an actual reference to Castlevania, so it is intentional. :D
Even though it's probably not connected, the monotheistic god that is worshiped in Game of Thrones is called the heart of fire, with a fiery heart being its sigil. Maybe they could adopt the "Heart of Fire" song in Castlevania. :P
I wonder what the Belmont's sigil would be.
A Combat Cross with bat wings coming out of the side?

Always thought the Belmont emblem was:

"We're gonna need a bigger castle..." -Dracula

Belmonts: Leave Hell to us.

Belmonts: We're in the ass kicking business.....and business is good. ;)

Just replace zombies with vampires.

Use my signature, but replace Star Wars with Christianity. ;D

Whip it good!
-
I think something in Latin could work well, like
Audemus Humanitas Defendere - we dare to defend humanity
Aurora Nos Amica - Morning is our friend
Bono Malum Superate - overcome evil with good
-
Whip it good!
Nice! But add: Whip it up! Into Shape!

Perfectomundo.

"Feel the might of the Belmont Clan!
All vile creatures of darkness must fall.
No matter what evil may challenge, the clan will not falter.
The Vampire Killer will cleave their soul."
-It's an amalgam of the words that Simon and Trevor say in Castlevania Judgment, replacing "House" with "Clan", and added a few words in to help it work together.
-
"To Protect the world from Devastation"
"To unite all hunters within our nation"
"To Destruct the evils from truth and love"
"To Extend out reach to the castle above!"
"Richter!"
"Alucard!"
"Throwing holy-water, crosses hurled"
"Die Monster, you don't belong in this world!"
