The ending.
Castlevania: Dracula X (SNES) Ending (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gb93Sb4h1WY#)
dat music.
dat art style.
dat final confrontation depicted entirely through silent images instead of cheesy anime villain dialogue.
dat somber remix of Divine Bloodlines accompanied by (potentially) Bad End credits.

I don't know man... Both seemed pretty weak to me after experiencing this work of art.

Well, in terms of the ending I have to agree with the music and... only that.
Yeah, the art in the ending is good, but the one used in the intro is simply... different. I don“t like at all.
Also, I prefer the last boss fighting in the columns 8)...

IMO, it also had the superior version of Divine Bloodlines.
My Top 101 SNES Themes #3- Dracula X (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHYeVhtn-GY#)

Honestly, Dracula X Snes had a bunch of things better...
Graphic design was stronger
Music was way better, which is a piece of work considering that RoB had real instruments
Intro Snes sets the mood and tone, Intro RoB ANIME!!!! (despite good animations, it sucks)
I think we should just remake RoB but with SNES style, RoB has superior everything else

I also find the layout of each stage (not stage blocks) in relevance to one-another is better executed in Dracula X then it was in RoB. And in terms of paths I feel the SNES version stands out much better as it is a reminder of how the CV III stage choices were laid out. In RoB they seem to be conjointed and accessible from almost every other stage. IMO It just feels weak and with no real structure as they are in earlier games. I will say that RoB's stage block layouts are vastly superior to the SNES Dracula X since it was like that in past games too, but that's as far as it goes.

It always confused me in Rondo how you go from a torture chamber to a ghost pirate ship.

That was the biggest weakness of the alternate paths system they created for Rondo, a complete lack of transitional sections.
I never minded that pretty much every stage has a route to both paths, but it really is jarring going from one environment to a completely different one with a split second of black screen between.
In that respect Adventure Rebirth did a fantastic job with it's alternate paths. Even if they are firmly confined within the same stage they look and feel properly connected even with vastly different tile sets.

Bloody tears, Divine Bloodines and Cemetary are vastly superior in Dracula X, though i'd argue the rest of RoB's soundtrack is better overall. Can't agree about the ending in Dracula X, I thought it was awful. RoB had fully voice endings, one for each character with animations.
