some games that you know are bad, either shitty gameplay or lame story, or glitches everywhere, terrible graphics, but you still have a soft spot for them for some reason
i like Dragon ball GT Final bout for the ps-x. its a bad fighting game, the controls are wonky, terrible voice acting, sub-par graphics. but i was a kid when i first played it, so the bad stuff, while i acknowledged exists, didnt bother me. i just cant bring myself to hate the game despite how bad it is
the bouncer for ps2. i dunno but when it was first revealed when ps2 first dropped i was impressed. it hasnt aged well but i still like it
final fantasy vii, either you hate it or you love it. i know of all the laundry list of problems it has, but still, i cant bring myself to hate it like most people nowadays. i love the story, the characters, the crappy graphics, everything lol

In any case, while Shadow the Hedgehog was pretty mediocre, I still enjoyed it due to its awesome soundtrack and how it gave Shadow character development. And hey, at least it wasn't as broken as Sonic '06. lol
And I also "enjoyed" MMX6, and by "enjoying" I mean "tearing through the game with the Ultimate Armor and never looking back." :V

This is a tough one to answer... All the games I do enjoy don't suck because I like them.
-
Man, there are some real pieces of crap out there that I still play and enjoy for some odd reason. Here's what I can think of off the top of my head:
Friday the 13th (NES)
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (NES)
Bible Adventures (NES)
Double Dragon (Atari 2600)
Godzilla (Gameboy)
Karate Champ (NES)
Master Chu and the Drunkard Hu (NES)
And, when it comes to Castlevania, I'm proud to say I totally love:
CV Adventure
CV Legends
and Haunted Castle.

Lmao final bout. No idea how I played that game so much back in the day.
Dead to Rights is a crap fest but I love the dog. Need another game that will give me a mutt companion to kill people with. (Disc is scratched too so it makes it even more crappy :( )
Also Flappy Bird. I honestly have no clue why I attempt to beat my high score of 14. Am I just missing some key brain cells or something

Hands down at the top of my list is Rally Cross for PSX.
The default gravity physics are hilariously 'off' and the 'suicide' race mode makes for awesome crashes in the pre- Burn Out era.
-
I'm sure there is a few but right now I can only think of Judgment.
-
Breath of Fire Dragon Quarter (I was so hardcore for the BoF series and 3 was my favorite), Megaman X7 ("BURN BURN BURN TO THE GROUND BURN TO THE GROUND" Nuff said), and SoulCalibur V (WTF Namco?).
Castlevania wise, Judgment (no surprise there).

thing is, Shadow the Hedgehog is actually a good game.
the premise and idea sucks ass, but the gameplay is good. the shooting part is pretty solid. Only issue is it runs on the heroes engine, which means the homing attack can and WILL propel you off into a pit a few times.

Dear god, where do I begin?
-Deadly Towers (NES) - No explanation necessary.
-Karate Kid (NES) - Same as above. Except...LJN.
-CV Adventure
-Chiller (Arcade) - Mainly for its shock value. I'm still in awe of how such a ghastly thing could've existed in its time with virtually no backlash. Granted, Exidy shooters weren't big business like, say, Mortal Kombat, but still.
-Bloodstorm (Arcade) - MK ripoff, yes. But it was pretty fun firing it up on MAME and finding and beating all the secret characters in one go, and getting the phone number to call during the end credits. And I did call it for shits and giggles. Obviously it was disconnected. Heh, I was kind of hoping the phone number was reassigned after all these years...I could've been like, "I found and killed all agents of Nekron. What do I get?" And the person on the other line would've been like, "uhh...hello?"
-Ikari Warriors - Favorite part of the game was finding out the general was a corpse in a chair. What a great, bizarre twist for its time. The NES version kind of screwed that detail up, though.
-Mad City (Famicom) - The Japanese version of Bayou Billy. It's very playable...don't get me wrong...it still sucks, but the Japan version is balanced, and can actually be beaten.
-Rival Turf (SNES) - Not sure if this should be included, because it doesn't completely suck...it's just a very derivative beat-em-up with nothing particularly special going for it. But it's competent, and it's fun for killing an hour or two. My favorite of the Rushing Beat series. Probably like it better than Brawl Brothers, and definitely more than (ugh) Peace Keepers.
-Burning Fight (Neo-Geo) - Okay, this one really does suck. But the character design and animations are so bad that it's impossible not to laugh at something.

Top Gun: Combat Zones for the PS2 is pretty bad, but I love it so much. I replayed a while back and I never fully appreciated at how shitty the graphics are. Like, barely-above-PS1 level. It also had weird design choices like making the 'areas' pretty small - accidentally crossing an area's 'border' was instant game over. there was also a limit as to how high you could take your fighter jet, which was incredibly frustrating. It's baffling that this came out after Ace Combat 4, which still looks beautiful to this day.
Does Streets of Rage 3 count? It's certainly a bonkers localization, like making the Japanese version's hard mode the default setting. It's stupid-hard by the second-to-last stage. It's the opposite problem of the Japanese version, which was stupidly easy on normal mode.
They tried to make the graphics resemble Mortal Kombat's digitized sprites that was all the rage at the time, but it didn't quite work. Axel's face looked a little special. Still it's a great stress reliever to punch a punk in the face over and over, even though I'll never beat it. The jungle techno is excellent, too.
Also CVII. Such an ambitious game for its time, even if it didn't pull it off.

Samurai Zombie Nation (Abarenbou Tengu) for NES: controls are slippery as all hell, story and concept are completely out there, and it's needlessly difficult due to sloppy design. But its aesthetic just draws me in for some reason, and I'm a huge fan of the tack factor.
Resident Evil: Gaiden had some pretty groovy music too.
Like many others in this thread, I really do have a soft spot for Judgment. I also like Legends.

Deadly Towers is great, seriously. The difficulty curve is ridiculous, but it was a really special and ambitious game. I also like Hydlide so maybe there is something wrong with me, though!
-
Haha, look at the freak, everybody!
-
I bought Deadly Premonition the other day and its shaping up to be wonderful despite being woefully bad as a game.
Also I would imagine EDF counts for this topic, and I love me some EDF.

Last Battle - a Genesis beat em up with no continues, 1 life, but man when your shirt rips off and you punch at lightning speed, its really cool
Megaman X7 - I try to deny it's terribleness for a small time to try to beat it.... still no avail.
(retired) Dark Souls 1+2, I loved Demon's souls, but man Dark souls' difficulty isn't hard, it's cheap, the broken hit-boxes speak for themselves. still fun to play at times.
Sonic 3D Blast (Genesis) - This game really isn't too horrible, it's soundtrack alone was so good that tracks were re-used in sonic adventure. which is the main reason I play it time to time.
X-Kaliber 2097 - Pretty medicre platformer with broken bossfights, but dat setting and dat music, it's my most guilty pleasure

That's actually a censored palette swap of a Hokuto No Ken/Fist of the North Star game. In the original version the bad guys exploded into gore instead of hilariously freezing and flying off the screen.
As for me well, I like the game "Phantom Fighter" on the NES even though it's objectively pretty terrible. It's one boring mini-game stretched out, with maybe a whole 2 or 3 songs in the entire soundtrack. But there's something about it I find hypnotic. Funnily enough it's also a licensed game that had the license dropped in the US. I'm pretty sure in Japan it tied in with the "Mr. Vampire" series of Jiang-Shi films.
I don't know if the copy protection trivia questions, which don't work at all since you can re-answer the 3 or 4 questions as many times as you like without penalty, were changed outside the US. But at least in the US English version some of the questions are rather quaint these days. I remember one of them was "What's the name of George Bush's dog?"

Damn dude, I'm kind of impressed you like it. I thought Sonic Spinball was better.
Though to be fair 3D Blast's graphics at the time were pretty killer.

Actually, I have to agree that it's great. It just has a bad reputation. The dungeon was a bit overkill, though...they went nuts with that part, and could've really made it less vast.
