...when they know almost nothing about Castlevania.
Castlevania: Fighter Stream. (A FAN GAME, NOT JUDGMENT) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kEorxaSQrw#)
Yeah, these guys clearly don't know what they're talking about any time they bring up Rondo. Right off the bat, nobody recognizes Dogether originated as a stage boss in Rondo and they all seem to think its first appearance was a regular enemy in one of the DS games (a lot of the random endgame enemies in the Metroidvania series actually started as full-blown bosses in Rondo). Then they incorrectly state Cerberus was the first boss in Rondo, when Cerberus wasn't in Rondo at all, but it IS the first boss in Dracula X / Vampire's Kiss.
Er, and now they're babbling about how the "PSP version" of Rondo is a lot easier than the "original version." But they're the exact same game with a graphical facelift. I'm pretty sure they're under the impression Rondo was released on the SNES (it wasn't) and the SNES version came out first (Rondo was released on the PC-Engine / TurboGrafx and the SNES version is more like a complete re-interpretation).
What's weird is I know saying "Dracula X" gets confusing because you could be referring to three different games depending on which console/region you're talking about (Akumajo Dracula X: Rondo of Blood, Castlevania: Dracula X, and Akumajo Dracula X: Nocturne in the Moonlight). But they're not using "Dracula X" interchangeably. They keep saying "Rondo of Blood", specifically, was an SNES game. Rondo was never used in any of the titles for any of the SNES games, ever. That's why they were really confusing me.
oh god I am so enraged right now.

I made it through 10 minutes of that bullmess. NOPE. Nah, can't listen to the rest.
-
Why not tell them where they are wrong...which should be pretty much all of the 50+minutes they spent talking about CV, lol. From the sounds of it these guys are noobies (and a couple of b00bies ;D)
-
"Is that Maxim from Soul Calibur?"
God this is gonna be a looooong video...
-
Hey, cut them some slack -- not everyone is that knowledgeable about Castlevania, and not everyone is a fan of the series.
Ask the average gamer whether he knows the difference between Rondo of Blood and Dracula X, and you'll probably be met with a blank stare. Heck, most people don't know that either game exists.

Then they should stop referencing Rondo of Blood. If they reference that game but confuse it with Dracula X for the SNES, then yes, they ought to be corrected.
Just because they may not be avid Castlevania fans that know every bit of knowledge about the game like any of us, does not give them a pass to not do their homework if they want to be taken seriously.
-
Indeed, at least the bare minimum of research would have been warranted.
-
Yes, truly slowbeef is the newb boob lord.
i was hoping for summa dat Diabeetus, but no...

True.
Then again, there's worse than this. Think Game Grumps playing Dracula X.
-
Somebody at the CV wiki once was confused about how Alucard and Trevor where the same character in MoF, while they interacted with each other in CV3. Clearly an oversight.
-
Spent five minutes, five minutes that I want back.
What a waste.
-
I never considered myself a Castlevania snob.... But this... this brings out the worst in me.
-
You're not a Castlevania snob if what they are spouting is a bunch of retarded nonsense that clearly demonstrates their lack of research on the subject. You're just a fan who is pained by the idiocy of others.
Again, remember kids...if you don't want to look like a fool, don't act like you know what you're talking about when you've done dick's worth of homework.
-
I wouldn't call myself a cv snob either but I do feel somewhat important when I'm asked about the series and what games to get from people who aren't major fans
-
It is a good idea for those out there to know their stuff, just so they're not caught off-guard when somebody asks them a question. And rather then being arrogance ie pretend to know what you're talking about, they should just simply answer 'I don't know'. It would save 'em a hell of a lot of embarrassment in the long-run. Do I know everything there is to know about CV? Hell no! If I'm in such a situation where I don't know the answer, I'll simply say I don't know. Why don't these other peoples' get it? Is it really that hard to be truthful? *sigh* I don't know. I just don't know... <--Captain Kirk, Star Trek V.
-
I won't be watching that. Thanks for all the warnings. ;D
-
I'll take one for the team and tell you not to.
I will admit that I don't draw the best artwork, but having them tear down the portrait art I rescaled for Serio's game, then having them turn around and say nonsense they know nothing about irked me to no end "Nathan looks just like Jonathan in that art"... urghhhh. There's one dude with a soft voice who seems to know about Circle of the Moon but you can barely hear him over the main asshole who says things like "Who the fuck is Hugh Baldwin!?"...
Just... stop... talking...
-
Sounds like you experienced more then just losing 5 minutes of your life. You brave sacrifice by taking one for the team will not be forgotten :'(

Well, mistaking Dogether with a peeping eye...
...they at least try it :P...
-
I'll take one for the team and tell you not to.
Mille grazie for your sacrifice.
-
Prego, Signorina.
-
Yay, let's make YouTube views by playing tons of games we don't know anything about.
-
I dont know why I watched it. Meh.
-
*Before watching the video*
I've sat through worse video's how bad could this one be?
*30 minutes later*
I...I can't, I just....I just can't.
-
Hah! You actually watched 30 minutes?

no you havent! if you watched "2 girls 1 cup" and dare say this silly video is worse, then u need to rethink your life
-
This video is worse than 2g1p.
-
I briefly considered posting this on Serio's forum, but looking at all this maybe it's for the better that I didn't.
-

I've sat through 2 girls 1 cup, Mr Hands and the Jamie Kennedy New Years special. That video offended me greatly than any of those shock video's.

I think we're starting to exaggerate here.
