So Lupin III is finally getting a live-action release? I'm actually looking forward to it.
Some of the actors look a bit off, though. Especially Fujiko. This always happens with live-action adaptations, but I can never get used to it.
Also, Arsène Lupin says hello.

There's one from the '70s.
Lupin The Third: Strange Psychokinetic Strategy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rr9zNZIADA#ws)
The new one by Ryuhei Kitamura (Versus, Godzilla: Final Wars, Midnight Meat Train) looks exciting.

Even as a die hard Lupin fan, I gotta say it looks pretty good so far.

Seconded. I didn't even know this was in the works, but hot damn am I excited for it.

I've always loved Lupin and I'm sure I'll watch this once it's available. Although I always imagined Lupin as a French guy and Jigen being more white? Not sure if Fujiko's breast are big enough either? (I kid I kid)
Personally I think Lupin could have a really good live action version. Not anything against the Japanese but I feel their specialty isn't in live action stuff. However, watching this trailer it seems I may get my wish. I always thought Adam Sandler could be a good Lupin.
Just on a side note I think Fist of the North Star could have a major motion picture (yes I'm aware it does but that movie is crap) I'm talking about a good one filled with shirt ripping screams and exploding heads!

Takashi Miike, Ryuhei Kitamura, Beat Takeshi, and Kiyoshi Kurosawa are some of the best directors in film currently, so I definitely don't agree. There's also all those great samurai and pinky violence flicks from the '70s, and of course the brilliance of Akira Kurosawa.
Kitamura specializes in fancy fight choreography, so I think he'll have the fast-paced action and fights from the anime films down. Whether his particular style is fitting for Lupin, I don't know, but as a movie I think it'll be entertaining.

Maybe I'm just watching the wrong stuff?

Lupin's mother was japanese, so hes at least suppose to be half japanese. And Jigen's full name is Daisuke Jigen, which is pretty japanese.

I hear ya. I just imagine them white I guess. I'm still looking forward to watching this though.

Interesting. I'd never heard of that movie.
