Just read an article about Gakai and where the hell has it been.
Needless to say I am unhappy at what was said: PS now (the answer for Gakai) is NOT going to support PS1 n PS2 as of now. The Beta only allows PS3 games on PS4.

Well, if they did have the older generation games they would probably be laughably over priced anyway.

you're right man, they would milk it for sure.
Even though it would make me feel somewhat violated, i'd still get some of the ones i had fun with back then.
I still have a working Ps2 and Ps3 and have yet to find a reason to put them in the basement.
My wall-unit is pretty cluttered to say the least LOL

Ugh! Why do so many people have issues hearing and just answering the question asked? I've encountered WAAAY too many people with this problem lately. Due to the whole thing with my heart/transplant, I've spent a lot of time trying to get information from various departments at my work, my insurance company, and various doctors. Most of the time, their "answer" doesn't even remotely answer what I asked. :-/

We live in the age of stupid. That's about all I can figure out with those clowns out there. Personally if I were asking the question and somebody dared to dodge it, I would demand that they answer it. I would put them on the spot in front of all those people till they cave in from the pressure. Questions need to be answered. Those that don't or dodge them are seriously incompetent and should not be in that line of work in the first place.

Except that sometimes they're not allowed to answer these questions. I'm not saying it's okay that they're not, but you gotta realize that in a lot of these situations, these questions are not allowed to be answered. Hence, the dodging.

If that IS the case, they can always say, "We are not at liberty to discuss that.", which is pretty much to the point. Give a definitive answer or say it's something you can't talk about, but don't beat around the bush like a moron who doesn't understand the means of discussion. That's the problem with most people, they lack the ability of proper communication.

It makes sense for the Beta program actually. Typically in beta you want to keep the scope limited so it's easier to find problems and fix them before adding a lot more content. But if you want people to use the service enough to get good data on it, you need to put up content that you think would most likely bring people in. That would be newer games, rather than old games. The reality is that, in the large scale of things, video game players tend to gravitate much more to current console games rather than the older consoles. In this case since the 'next-gen' consoles are so new that not everyone has moved over yet, this includes the last-gen consoles (ie PS3).
I'm sure once they're out of Beta, or in the near future, they'll begin to add the older console games on there.
Another possibility is they simply don't have the older console emulation working with the streaming service to a good enough degree yet, and it needs more time to get fix up. They would definitely prioritize the newer consoles than the older here for the same reasons above.
Yeah it sucks, but that's just kind of how it goes. Though, really, I'm not banking on streaming games to be anywhere comparable to actually having an offline copy anyway. It's definitely not going to work the same, and I'll likely never jump on board with it.

I'm less concerned about backwards compatibility and more concerned about hardware malfunctions.
My ps4 has problems. It has issues charging the control. You plug it in and sometimes a question mark shows up on the battery icon. When this happens it doesn't take a charge. And it happens often.
Also it's started not playing audio! Sometimes I have to reboot the system just to get the audio to work!
Err wtf sony...

If it's defective just contact Sony about it, but don't sit on it too long or you may not be able to be covered.
Shit happens and sometimes merchandise gets damaged in production or delivery, but they'll most likely not tell you too bad and run with your money.
Also this is one of the prices you pay with early adoption.

Yeah... It just started happening a couple weeks ago and we've had the thing since late May.

The issue ive been having is with my keyboard, it disconnects and reconnects whenever it feels. Its corded and I've tried different ones. Nothing major but its annoying.

If it works similar to Sega Channel, then i see it being pretty damn good. I assume that there will be a lot less for a lot more though

Their streaming service will NOT work like Sega Channel. Sega Channel was actually downloading the game to your console to play (like digital distribution). Sony's will be like Youtube and Netflix technology, where the game is processed on their server and the screen render is sent via streaming video back to you. Yes, that is as laggy and shitty as it sounds.
