Look at the platforms section; http://www.esrb.org/ratings/synopsis.jsp?Certificate=2651&Title=Castlevania%3A%20Symphony%20of%20The%20Night&searchkeyword=Castlevania (http://www.esrb.org/ratings/synopsis.jsp?Certificate=2651&Title=Castlevania%3A%20Symphony%20of%20The%20Night&searchkeyword=Castlevania)
Does this mean we'll get a PC port of SOTN?
Also, IGN news about this; http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/10/14/castlevania-symphony-of-the-night-gets-esrb-addition (http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/10/14/castlevania-symphony-of-the-night-gets-esrb-addition)
Sorry if this was posted already. Didn't find anything on quick glance at search

A number of old school console games have been popping up on Steam so I wouldn't be surprised to see come out.
-
I really hope it will be available on macs :P
-
What? Serious? Day one.
They better put in the PSP edition extras.

I go further:
They better give us new enemies, new itens and new areas. But of course porting the PSX version would be much easier, and make profit much faster...

Since it's coming out on PC the modding community will probably take it a step further. In other words; putting in the extra stages that the Saturn version had while giving all the graphics a redressing, and re-introduce the overpowered Maria while they're at it.
-
I've been waiting for this to happen!
Konami if you're listening, Mac version too please!
-
I want my Underground Garden and my Skeleton Leader. Only good.

Me Agree. I think it's kinda retarded that the ports used the PSX version and not the Saturn version.

It'll most likely be a program shell that emulates the game. This will be much harder to mod.
-
Personally I'd rather they released the Dracula X Chronicles for PC for all us millions of people who never had a PSP and/or prefer to play on a big screen with a real controller. Still, pretty neat if this happens.

That's mostly because the Saturn version was retarded. Stretched graphics, garbage animations (the Wraiths and Ifrits, case in point), half-assed stages with horrible layouts, and some of the worst visual effects ever made (Skeleton Leader's outrageously clashing gradient sword-beam).
Hence why I said "only good."

Don't forget some rooms were cut into two, or even removed altogether.

VitaTV/PlayStationTV

Finally, they realize they can made a legit copy of a game that has been circling on the webs for a long time...
I'm just gonna be saying, "Here comes the mods!"
I don't need the game on PC since i have both the PS and PSP versions.
-
I think it will be a PSP port for Steam. Why? The majority of old ports coming to Steam are from Android, DS, PSP and Wii.
-
VitaTV/PlayStationTV
DXC has yet to be made compatible.
If that's rectified, I'll probably sell my PSP and get a PS TV, although even Vita games have to be patched to be made compatible with the system, so that's entirely bogus.
-
I hope it's the version with the old voice acting, I didn't like the PSP revisions.

Really? I thought it was on the list when I first checked.
-
Not interested unless something new and good is added. The underwhelming PSP extras don't mean shit to me.
-
I'm all for new extras! if this comes out.
-
Even if it was the PSX version with no extras I would buy it sometime, to show interest in CV 2D and CV for PC.

I remember when we said that LoS2 would be modded with active community members but it never happened. If anything this will be an emulated version, therefore it won't be as modable as we think it will be. I've SotN on PS3, DXC and I've emulated the game on PC already and there are mods for these so I don't see why Official PC version means anything to me. It's just Konami dish out for extra money.

I completely agree with you.
-
It depends on people knowledge and interest, not bashing but being sincere, I think that a lot of people would prefer to mod SOTN than LoS. Since the great majority of people that played LoS are newcomers that like it the way it is.

I think that was predicated on LoS2 being a game anyone actually liked enough to want to spend time modding.
I think this is a case of too little too late. Unless there's something else added to it, I can't see why Konami would spend the time porting a game that's almost 20 years old to PC.

Just to keep the coals of Castlevania hot enough to keep the fire going, perhaps. They might have something up their sleeves.

Oh god i hope not

I guess. Seems pointless though if it's just another straight port. If they were to do SoTN HD Remix or something like that, I could see that being worth buying.
-
Someone make an in-game level editor that we can use to make our own castles. That would be the ultimate dream.
Like a Castlevania version of Mario Maker. That'd be infinitely appealing.
-
I'd buy a port, but I agree that it'd be much more worth it if there was a little somethin'-somethin' extra for us...and not a voice acting change as was apparently once tried!
A "-maker" would be awesome too!
-
A level editor is a pipe dream for this. There's no way you'll see that.
My bet is it will be the Xbox360 version, which runs on a DirectX framework already, hence would make the most sense to port for windows officially.
-
People dont bashed the 360 port saying its a bad port IIRC?
-
It was a good port.
-
If it's going to be the XBL version, I hope they'll at least swap the credits song to Serenade of Sympathy. Hearing Admiration Towards the Clan can feel a little jarring if you know it's from LoI.
-

Yeah, like Uzo said, it was a good port. Aside from the removed FMVs, I saw nothing wrong with it. Granted, the FMVs were ugly as shit so it's no biggie.
I don't mind if they just port the 360 version. I'd love to have an actual PC port.
-
They should just give us the Level Editor Mod, I'd pay a lot for that. Not just for SotN, but for DoS, PoR and OoE as well. I think those games are great. If it's an HD version of SotN, it would be awesome. Like that SotN iOS Puzzle game sprites, they were great.
-
Who wants to bet its a PC port of the Castlevania Puzzle game? xD
Actually, I'd LOVE a multiplayer version of that. Fun game and it would be great to be able to play it online with friends. And hey, it would be a nice add in for the SoTN PC port! ;D
-
Ahahaha! I loved that Puzzle game too.
Though I'm doubting it would be added to the PC port.
-
Thats a bonus more possible than a map editor, Steam is full of Android and iOS ports :P
