Things considered bad on Castlevania games, but that you secretly enjoy.
I enjoy extremelly tight controls of classicvanias, including no jumping off of ladders and no whipping in all directions.
I enjoy dodging Medusa Heads, even when they throw me on pits/spikes causing cheap deaths.
I enjoy this song a LOT:

What 'bout ya dudes?

Um, I also like Medusa heads. I like spikes and death pits too.
I like I am the Wind.
I like CV VA.
I may think of some others later. I'm sure I have more

Let´s see:
I love the voice acting in Symphony of the Night (that one from PSX).
I love how you need to jump exactly in the platforms in the first 3 games. Its irritating but fun at the same time.
I love Portrait of Ruin as a whole :P.
-
I love the Saturn NitM graphics
I love the HoD music
And I love the PSP NitM voice acting. :P
-
I like SotN's PSX dub over PSP
I like NitM for Saturn
I like the fact that they attempted to upgrade Richter's outfit on NitM (Im not very happy with the outcome, but I havent noticed anything bad about it at first on TV)
-
I love Mirror of Fate. No, really. I LOVE it.
-
Do we have a 'guilty pleasures' awards? Cause I think AxeLord just won it ;D
My guilty pleasure is playing Curse of Darkness from time to time despite how terrible an entry it is for the series as a whole :P
-
I like Legacy of Darkness (both 64 entries really), which also seem to be hated.
I too liked Mirror of Fate.
I frequently like the gimmicks...extra modes, other playable characters, etc.
-
I like the crissaegrim/valmanway despite the fact it breaks SOTN
I like the realism of CVII i.e. you can walk directly passed the bosses, a random guy just upgrades you to flame whip, townspeople say cryptic things
I like that Bloody tears plays over and over again in CV II
I like that Dracula is Mathias and not Vlad. (despite the painting of Vlad in Rondo and the Vlad Graveyard in CV II)
I like cheap deaths..
I like NITM>SOTN mainly because of Maria
I like POR and DOS' story
-
Can't say I have any guilty pleasures related the the series honestly. Though I do disagree with a lot of people on points about the series I can't say I'm embarrassed about any of my stances there.
A lot of people complain about the jumping and knockback mechanics on the classic games but I think that just comes out of a place of misunderstanding. The mechanics are unusual, but they're perfectly designed to work with the games they're made for. To complain that the jumping isn't like in Mario or Mega Man is to miss the point. I also defend Legacy of Darkness as a legitimately great game, especially for its time, but I'm not ashamed about that.
-
I don't think I'm really "ashamed" either, honestly. It may be against the "popular opinion" or whatever, but I'm not ashamed to like what I like.

Welcome back Pemburu Vampir
Thank you Lelygax. Been starting to go back playing the CV series again after being "occupied" with Tokusatsu show like Kamen Rider. So I thought why not post here again? lol ;D

I must admit that I love I am the Wind as well. Some might see this as a gulty pleasure, some might not, but I also adore the music for Lords of Shadow 2.
-
I love the stylus parts of DoS.
But this still doesnot beat Axelord's comment. Hehehe.
-
I love the first Lords of Shadow.
I will farm Schmoos for hours at a time to get a Crissaegrim. Sometimes two. Same goes for two Rings of Varda.
I prefer the accurate (though rather corny) translation of SotN's "Die Monster!" dialogue. I don't feel visibly guilty over this, but there's a lot of nostalgia points on the localization and I prefer the former. But then, fuck popular opinion, I like what I like.
Skeleton Leader is my favorite boss in the entire series. Period. Shitty gradient sword beam and all.
I torment the flirty enemies in PoR. For very long periods. Mostly the Henry VIII-looking guys.
Likewise, I also get a kick out of luring as many Succubi in a room as possible (in Aria and Dawn, mostly) into one crowd, so that Soma gets a harem, and then see how long I can evade the mob. This also applies to OoE with the Batgirls.
I quote The Undertaker whenever a Gravedigger shows up in OoE.
I read various lines of dialogue, from almost any game with it, in Robert Belgrade's voice. And it's majestic.
I still snicker like a twelve-year-old at Shaft's name. And all of his attacks. And proceed to make a "shafted" pun when I kill him.
I laugh my ass off every time I get to the cutscene in LoI where Walter's sitting in the throne. Stupid vampire, you're way too big for that thing, you look silly!
I constantly press the Up button whenever I'm playing as Charlotte. Guilty as charged.
