Title: CV II: Belmont's Revenge - Arrangements
Post by: Kyria on December 29, 2014, 06:56:11 AM
Hi there,

I got some arrangements of the Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge soundtrack.
Unfortunately I don't know where I got them or who made them.

Maybe you know the source of the music?
You can download samples here (http://www36.zippyshare.com/v/89861883/file.html).

Greetings

This should be on the fan stuff thread. I'll move it there.

I remember hearing those tunes. But the last time I downloaded them was from the CV Dungeon music section. I don't know if you can still do that now with the state it's currently in. Do some net-sleuthing for other CV websites. You might have some luck with that.

Thank you, Shiroi.

Thank you, X, for your answer.
I'm glad somebody else knows these pieces.
The CV Dungeon music section is a good direction, but many links are down.
Perhaps the arrangements are Zero Slug FM's work.

Maybe others here at dungeon know more?
Anyway I will crawl the net.

Greetings

Hey Kyria,

I took a listen to the samples on your download site:

The first three appear to just be MIDI files from VGMusic.com, recorded.
-Sample 1 is "Crystal Castle", Tom Kim's MIDI version.
-Sample 2 is "Ripe Seeds", and it sounds like it's one of JILost's MIDI versions.  Not completely sure, however.
-Sample 3 is "Psycho Warrior, and it could be the Jay Reichard (silentzora@yahoo.com) version.
-Sample #4 is a MIDI version of "Passepied".  Specifically, it's my MIDI.  You can hear this via Youtube:
Passepied - Dracula's Castle 2 - Castlevania Adventure II: Belmonts' Revenge (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGmSzUBFKsE#)

All of these can be found on vgmusic.com, as I mentioned.

Hello Jorge,

many thanks for your answer!
I knew you could help.

Now I got the MIDI files. That's pretty cool.
Your work at "Passepied/Road to Enemy" is great!
But who arranged the MIDI files?

Anyway I'm happy :-).
Thank you for your help and have a nice time!

Greetings

I arranged the MIDI files for Passepied.
I arranged most, if not all, of the music in my Youtube channel.  Have since the late 90's, haha.

Passepied, however, is not an original Konami piece.
It was originally Claude Debussy's.

Here's the Piano version.  CVII:BR uses only the first measures of it.
Debussy: Suite Bergamasque - IV. Passepied (Gieseking) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hifk5F5uJM#)

Here's the very rare Orchestra version, which mine is loosely based on:
Claude Debussy - Passepied (orchestral version) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVuHfKDh-NY#)

The GB games use tons of classical music, such as the track that plays during the battle against Soleiyu.
