Much like Wreck-it Ralph, Ralph Belmondo wrecks Dracula's schemes 8)

Who knows. It's like Final Fantasy 5's character Butz. Butts..?? Who the hell comes up with that let alone naming a person that!?

To be fair Butz was a mistranslation of an incorrectly romanized German surname.
Ralph is a much cooler name when you use the old English pronunciation; reɪf.

Ralph is charming in its simplicity, yet it still sounds heroic. It's a good name for a character in a fantasy setting. At least it's not one of those awful made-up names or one that tries way too hard to be exotic.

The name Belmondo always reminds me of the name Armando, and I know a dude named Armando who is really silly, so in the end it makes me laugh.

Trevor is just a cooler name than Ralph, so that's why I prefer the US localization of his name compared to the original.

Ralph is also another term used to describe vomiting. As in 'Ralphing your cookies'  :P  Trevor fits better for some reason. Either that or it's just cause I knew of Trevor before Ralph.

Ralph reminds me of Ralph Wiggum, can't take it overly seriously.

Can someone please explain why the same person is Trevor and Ralph. C, what's with the C???

Ralph is the Japanese name, and his full name is "Ralph Christopher Belmondo"

He was originally the same Christopher who predated Simon by a 100 years. I don't know why, but they changed his first name to Ralph but kept the initial so it still fits with CV1's manual story. So originally, Ralph/Trevor was the same as Christopher from The Adventure. IGA later retconned this and made them separate individuals. One of the guys who wrote the story and the character descriptions for CV3 mentioned that on some forum around 3 years ago.

Replace him in your mind with Ralph Fiennes.

Hmmm... I wonder if I could somehow get everyone that uses the cool pronunciation of Ralph to legally change their names to Reif.

How did Iga retcon it?  It sounds like it was already retconned in CV3.

CV3 and CVA were mutually exclusive prequels to CV1 and CV2. IGA later made them fit together by placing CVA 100 years before CV1 and CV3 another 100 years before that. Though in reality, both games are pretty clear on the fact that it's the first time Dracula is supposed to be defeated.

Huh. Never knew that . I naturally figured that CV III and CVA had two totally different Belmonts. I guess IGA might have thought the same thin on some level.

It would probably sound better with the L being silent and a long A sound. Rayph. Like the actor Ralph Fiennes.
