A simple question: I'm looking to spend some money and get SotN/DXC on the PSN. However, I read that SotN was included in the DXC game. Should I only DL the DXC? Or should I but SotN as well? I don't want to end up with two SotN games, even if they're cheap ^^

Get the DXC version. It has more shit to play around in 8)
No seriously, DXC has SotN that has what the PSN release contains plus a playable Maria Renard and some other things. You'll get more then just one game with DXC.
-
What X just said, unless you want to give Konami more money.
-
You playing on just a PSP or do you wanna play on your TV with a PS3? Far as I know, DXC still doesn't have Vita/PS TV support and would be confined to a PSP.
Also, while SOTN in DXC (an unlockable along with Rondo of Blood) has some extra goodies and things originally omitted from the English release, its image quality is a bit filtered and doesn't look as crisp and grand as the PlayStation version. I'd recommend getting the PS1 version of the game on PSN if you want the best video quality and to play on a TV.
If you're just playing on a PSP, though, then just go with DXC and read up how to unlock SOTN (and Rondo).

I'm getting them on PS3, so thanks for the tips. DXC, here I come. :)
-
Unless you have a PSP to play it on, you're gonna be disappointed. ;)
-
Yeah unless you love the original SotN I'd go with DXC and play that version.

Why would I be disappointed? Bad graphics or quality? Don't care at all if I have good ol' CV fun. ;)
-
In that case, just get the DXC.

My plan exactly. Thanks everyone. Mods can close that thread if needed.

>Can download Dracula X Chronicles from PSN
>Can download on to a PS3
>Whoops, looks like you need a PSP or a Vita to actually play it ha ha ha FUCK YOU
Sony's infrastructure is terrible.

not really, PPSSPP will do just fine on anything it can be run on.

In Japanese PSN region Dracula X Chronicles has PSV support and it works fine on my PSV but in US region it's just fucked.
Similar things happened with PS1 Castlevania Chronicles and only Japanese PSN region has PSV support.
PPSSPP emulator is keeping updating and Dracula X Chronicles main game have no emulation problem anymore but bonus games like Rondo and SotN are sucked. Mega Man Maverick Hunter X still can't work with an emulator and I can't find out what the problem is, later I gave up and purchased my PSN wallet for both Japanese and US region versions.

that sounds like older issues, DXC was fully playable by 9.9.7 and the side games work perfect by 9.9.8, as for MMX, you gotta tap F5 a few times to get it working properly.
This of course is coming from the Windows version of the emulator.
SoTN is actually very nice since the emulator has a volume slider for music and sfx, so I could finally turn up the tunes

Chern, DXC is not playable on PS3, it's PSP-only. That's why Freak said you'd be disappointed.
As for emulation, PPSSPP is indeed a good one. Just don't try and rig up an emulator on your console. The necessary CFW can break consoles just as easily as it enhances.

I've tried my best and it still sucks, the emulator is even a PPSSPP 1.0 version. Maybe the emulator captured my mind and keep shitting at me, for my lazy and weird purpose. I'll return to next-gen PlayStation console area then.

Bah. Still waiting then. I wouldn't even consider the Vita TV without DXC and MHX minimum of being compatible.

DXC is on sale on PSN: for 7.49$ (Plus) or 8.99$
DXC does have PSTV support but only on in EU.
