Title: Questions about Castlevania the Lecarde Chronicles fangame
Post by: Aceearly1993 on February 14, 2015, 05:36:41 PM
I have beaten the game last night, the castle stages and final castle is damn hard as hell (even in normal mode...!) and the final boss phase 1 track is so awesome... What is the kickass track came from?

Welcome to the dungeon Aceearly1993...did I spell it right..? lol.

I really liked this game and the music was well interpreted. It truly fit the atmosphere of the game and what stages the music was selected for. You could tell a lot of love and respect went into making it, and I take my hat off to those that created it. Konami should learn from this. unfortunately I've not been able to finish it myself though. The frustrations of the area prior to the final stages just got to me. I've since left it alone and have not played it after that, and this was well over a year ago.

The track seems to be a MIDI remix of "Sons of Satan" from Belmont's Revenge. If I understand your request correctly. ;)

OK, thanks everybody and at first I have no idea what the track is, because I haven't played Belmont's Revenge...

The game is awesome to have its original voice acting samples for the main hero and boss monsters, cool graphic details and effects, the main hero has good mobility and relics for special arts, his movement and whip functions are simple and easy to use for newcomers, but the game has hardcore difficulty when you are in the castle stages, and in some wide room areas (like final castle section 1 room 2, the stage of the last battle with Grim Reaper) the camera will stuck in one place or struggle in between two areas sometimes or just VERY slow and can't follow player's movement, at first I think that it could be a design flaw but Bone Granfalloon and Puppet Master boss fights don't suffer similar problems and now I'm wondering what the reason is.

I need to start it back up again. Imo it's what a classicvania should be. Though not sure why the main guy wasn't called Belmont

The Lecardes' are offshoots of the main Belmont family line. Even if he isn't a Belmont in name he is one by blood.

I always thought of them as more spear users

In all fairness, only one of the three Lecardes in the series used a spear. The other two were magic users.

I'm trying the Hard Mode and it sucks. The difficulty is actually IMMORTAL or ACCURSED instead of just simple Hard and I remembered the damned CV Adventure rebirth hard mode almost immediately. (It's actually worse than the rebirth hard mode and all things relies on RNG)

P.S: I beat the hard mode............at last! It costs me everything....... Arrrrrrraaaaaaaghhhhhh! The final stages are.........the damned mix of RNG and pixel-perfect move and patient.

Yeah there was a bit of light conflict about the difficulty when the game was undergoing another version update. And you probably don't want to here this, but the endings are tied up with the difficulty settings. In other words you can only get the best ending by finishing the game on the hardest setting. This decision did not sit well with some members of the dungeon (me being one of them  ;D). That's why I still have the previous version saved on my machine as I don't believe I should be forced to do something that I know is beyond my capabilities. If and when I ever finish the version I have I can see the ending without having to chore through the difficulty. This was also why CV Bloodlines did not sit well with me as they did the exact same thing.

I pass the game on hard, yes its hard XD but not impossible, and when you finish in hard its gives to you a little more of the ending, thats something the old version dont have i will leave  a video i make with the ending in hard, dont watch if you dont want to spoild but if someone want can watch the ending.

Yes, the song is "Sons of Satan" from Belmont's Revenge.

The last thing that I'm not sure the final fate of the whip called "Gilt Slayer" in its final form, did Efrain abandon it all the way after the damned fight or something? It would be such a place to give me and other players of the game some imaginations.
I realized that this game lacks the long and safe stair to the castle keep with moon and a throne room, I don't know why but usually I just don't mind about it.
Also the R.I.P trap room in final stage is pretty cool. It's a place that I won't forget even I put the game away from my laptop PC for several days.

This is usually Dracula's thing as well as Catlevania's. It has been presented in another castle as well. The one Elizabeth Bartly created in England in CV Bloodlines. But for the most part any castle not associated with Dracula directly doesn't have the grand stairway to the solitary tower in the sky. Of course there are also some forms that Castlevania itself had taken which doesn't have the ascending stairways. The 3 gameboy titles don't have them.

Dawn of Sorrow's Castle is not Dracula's at all; it belongs to Celia's Cultists.
It is unknown where its location is, exactly, but we see Windmills in the ending scene so... Holland?
Regardless, that particular castle features the iconic Staircase, as well as a hidden "Castle Entrance Hall" section deep underground.

So, to recap:
-some castles that are not Dracula's Castle may have the stairs/throne room.
-some castles ARE versions of Dracula's Castle, and yet don't have those stairs.

I've beaten boss rush mode but hard boss rush is something that tied with RNG and pixel-perfect move and I still can't handle it...

Recently I've searched through the Internet and find a "debug system" of a game called "Rise of Castle Dracula" and I'm confusing if there are some connection between "Rise of Castle Dracula" and Lecarde Chronicles. It seems that the "Rise of Castle Dracula" is a part of development tool of Lecarde Chronicles or the design concept received drastic change before "Rise of Castle Dracula" could be out. Or "Rise" and "CTLC" are just completely unrelated but I'm not sure...
