Title: I'm bored of waiting for new CV!
Post by: Rictrunks on March 31, 2008, 07:45:53 AM
I always read news from videogame websites, everyday everyday, everyday! I'm just bored! Where is new CV?

If this continue like this, I'll give up being CV-Fan :P
Protesting IGA Protesting IGA!

I, too, demand a lazily constructed, poorly designed, neon-bright game, with all my favorite RoB and SotN sprites reused yet again.

Damn you IGA for taking your time!

Yeah, what's taking them so long? I just want an official screenshot or a name or something. Though I still haven't played Dracula X Chronicles so I guess I could get that while I'm waiting. But I've already played both Rondo and Symphony to death. I want something NEW.

Maybe they'll announce TWO new CVs at the same time. One for DS and one for XBOX360/PS3. That could be a reason why they would wanna wait a little... or maybe not.

I read game blogs as well, everyday hoping for Castlevania news. I wish Iga would update his blog and say how the development is going, is he satisfied, who is doing the music, percentage of game that is done, the working title..so much it can be said without giving to much info.

I really need something, at least Iga saying "yes, we are making it and it is going well". Anything, please!? Hoping for tomorrow..and then day after that, and day after..

oh get real, taking longer won't mean it will end up being
a better CV in the long run.

unless they are upping the
graphics like what King of Fighters XII is doing,  I
wouldn't mind if they recycle sprites again.

OK guys, take it easy! Aria of Sorrow has come a year after Harmony of Dissonance and we didn't knew anything about it. They announce the first info and screen a few month's before it got released.

What i want to say is, if they are going to make the same as Aria and the new game is going to be the same quality, then i'll gladly wait for the first new, info, screen as much, as they want and don't you think that i'm not eager to see the first info or screens for the new game!

There seems to be a pattern amongst CV fans. When a new game is released, everybody eats it up & enjoys every aspect of it. About 2 or 3 months later, the hype dies down and most of the community find all the flaws and begin to bash what they once praised. Several months after that, the community calms down and eagerly awaits the next game, citing "what takes them so long" or "can't wait for the next game", and the cycle repeats itself.

Is this a fair assumption?

But thats like every game. After the hype comes the  critiques, and if its good enough to warrant a sequel (and a sequel is almost sure to come) people wait and moan for it.

As much as I want to play a new CV I'm enjoying the wait. This just builds up the excitement.

The other reason I'm glad it hasn't come out yet is because I don't want to see happen to Castlevania what happened to the Megaman series. Release like 3 games a year, ruin a good chunk of a great part of the series (X) and then come out with crap game ideas like Battle Network and that other new crap they come up with.

Um.... Longer production time gives them more time to work on the game.  In what world does that not make it more likely to be better?  Are you really saying that a rushed game is as good as a game where they take time to fine tune things and add more content?

PoR was rushed and its awesome.

besides it's better than waiting 3 years for a new CV
and then realizing it's junk.  (look at Prey, it took them
7 years to complete it and that game is junk.)

i think he means, get junk faster and more instead of waiting for it............

that doesn't sound good either.

The length of time it takes to create the game won't matter depending on who actually makes it and what resources they have and/or use to make it with.

It gives him more time to be creative and hopefully make a great game but it doesn't always mean it will happen just because it took him a year or two.

And this was around the time we learned information about PoR anyway. (Shortly after the April Fool's Duel Moon awesomeness.) So we might learn something very soon.

And hell, even if we do, doesn't mean we have to get it this year.  We might just learn a little info and who knows.  It might just take until next year or more to get it.

True. then again, over the last several years, at least one cv game has been released each year.

Hm, not really. There were breaks in 2004, 2005, and now 2007. It takes them about a year inbetween.

And if it takes them a year or more to make them better, then what's the loss?

Curse of Darkness and Dawn of Sorrow came out in 2005. Dracula X chronicles came out in 2007. So, 2004 was the last 'vania drought.

The quality hasn't improved at all. After Aria, you had the 3D games which utterly failed in level design, and the DS games, which were sloppy all around. There was at least some effort in DXC, but then again, they just had to build off Rondo. The game was already made for them.

I hope there's some new twist to the next CV gameplay...one that doesn't suck...

I won't be like most people and completely bash/hate IGA but I  really have to agree with the above. (Blood, I'm not saying that you are, don't get me wrong!) I personally liked DXC.  True, it was a remake and anything they tweaked/added/fixed was pretty much already there...but there were a *lot* of things that they did that I loved.

But I gotta agree that there needs to be some sort of positive move forward for the series. Keep a few things with the gameplay or not at all and make playing the game a brand new experience.  Or if the gameplay is just that great, fine: if it isn't broken, don't fix it.  But at the very least, add some sort of fresh element to it so that it won't be the same ole same ole.

I dunno...I just want something new.  Maybe that's why I liked DXC so much too...not to much that the gameplay was new but it felt like a nice break between all the SOTN esque gameplay.

Personally, I wouldn't mind a good 3D Castlevania. ::hunches:: Sorry, I'm rambling and bored. XD
